The Grand Finale of the 𝐒𝐫𝐢 𝐒𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐲𝐚 𝐒𝐚𝐢 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐅𝐢𝐥𝐦 𝐅𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥 at Prasanthi Nilayam brought together two conversations close to me and to the heart of the festival: 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠.

From the ‘𝐂𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐦𝐚 𝐚𝐬 𝐒𝐞𝐯𝐚’ panel with veterans from cinema, including this year's 2024 National Award winners Bharatbala Ganapathy and Rajkumar Periasamy, and actor Nasir Abdullah, to the address on ‘The Power of Youth: Creating, Inspiring and Serving’, the evening explored how creativity and technology could be used to touch hearts, inspire action and serve society.

We need cinema that moves us, and through short films, we can tell 10-minute stories rooted in values that inspire us to act.

As Chairman of the Ananta Aspen Centre and Co-Chair of the 17th India-Singapore Strategic Dialogue in Singapore, carrying the discussion forward from the India-Singapore Ministerial Roundtable (ISMR) and India-Singapore Business Roundtable (ISBR) forward with Ambassador Keng Yong Ong, a deeply engaging dialogue with Mrs. Josephine Teo (Minister for Digital Development & Information), Mr. Chee Hean (Chairman, Temasek Holdings), and former Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Swee Keat (Chairman, National Research Foundation) across two days of dialogue spanning bilateral relations, geopolitics, sustainability and technology.

On the AI Public Forum panel chaired by Benjamin Ang along with The Straits Times editor Jaime Ho, Srikumar Misra, and Asha Hemrajani, the conversation moved from infrastructure to impact: where AI actually reaches people.

Beyond trade and investment, it's about India and Singapore building the same technology stack, together. That shift, from transactional to structural, is the one worth carrying into the 18th edition.

Disparity is not a statistic. Dignity is not a slogan. Leadership with no option but to act, is what closes the distance between the two.

That was the thought at the heart of Ananta | Godrej Ideas India 2026, where three days in Jaipur brought together Fellows and leaders for conversations around “𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐃𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲: 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐀𝐜𝐭.”

As Chairman of the Ananta Aspen Centre, it was exciting to help shape those conversations from the opening reflections to a fascinating discussion on India’s dependence on the seas with Vice Admiral Sanjay Jasjit Singh (Retd.), Director General, United Service Institution of India, and the Socratic Dialogues that followed.

The most valuable part of Ideas India, however, is not arriving at easy answers. It is creating the space to question assumptions, listen to different perspectives and leave with a greater imperative to act.

Shoutout to the Ananta Godrej Ideas team, Vice Admiral Sanjay Jasjit Singh (Retd.) and Senior Advocate Rebecca Mammen John, along with the Fellows and wider leadership community, for making the conversations as thought-provoking as they were diverse.

Moving from disparity to dignity is a responsibility and it begins with what we choose to do next.
