Smile please!

The story behind the picture

I noticed these girls standing on top of a hill. They were calling out people to click their pictures and pay them money. Initially I was shooting with my fellow mates who were all dressed in Rajasthani attire. These girls, who were staring at us until now came up and asked to click their pictures. They were overwhelmed by my friends’ costumes! They were constantly smiling and were discussing about us. I asked them if they wanted to get clicked. They immediately started posing with huge smiles. I showed them their pictures seeing which they were contented! We had quite a long photoshoot session! We talked to them about their livelihood. I wanted to share their pictures with them thus asked if they had smartphone by any chance. Unfortunately they did not have it. I feel miserable for not being able to share pictures with them. Thus I’ve thought of buying a polaroid (instant) camera for people like them. It will give me immense pleasure to see the smiles on their faces after having their own pictures!
