𝑰𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒊𝒈𝒆𝒏𝒕... 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒆𝒎𝒑𝒂𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒕𝒊𝒄, 𝒃𝒐𝒕𝒉!

That's not a soft ask. Coming from someone who has seen governance at scale from the inside, it's a precise, deliberate standard.

Former Secretary, Govt. of India & Former DG, IIPA, Surendra Nath Tripathi ji has left us food for thought.

And, it is true.

Look around. 𝘐𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘢'𝘴 𝘈𝘐 𝘔𝘪𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯 is funding sector-specific AI deployment across agriculture, health, and skilling. The 𝘋𝘪𝘨𝘪𝘵𝘢𝘭 𝘗𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘋𝘢𝘵𝘢 𝘗𝘳𝘰𝘵𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘈𝘤𝘵 is asking hard questions about who technology serves and how. The 𝘗𝘔 𝘎𝘢𝘵𝘪 𝘚𝘩𝘢𝘬𝘵𝘪 platform is proving that when data infrastructure is built right, governance doesn't just scale, but thinks. And globally, the 𝘌𝘜 𝘈𝘐 𝘈𝘤𝘵 has forced every government to confront a question that used to be academic: can your systems explain themselves?

That's the empathy test: the ability of a system to serve a citizen, not just process them.

The ethics conversation in govtech is no longer a fringe debate. It's the centre of every serious procurement decision, every public-sector AI rollout, every question about what 'digital transformation' actually means for the last mile.

Today, a farmer in rural Bihar books a train ticket via voice command in Bhojpuri. He's not familiar with what an interface is. He speaks, and it works.

In another instance, an elderly woman in Tamil Nadu checks her Ayushman Bharat eligibility on her daughter's phone. No forms, counters or "come back tomorrow."

While the old model demanded citizens speak the language of systems - learn portals, remember passwords, decode bureaucratic language - the new model asks: What does the citizen already know? What do they already do? Meet them there.

As Shri Deepakk Chandra Misra (Advisor (IT), DARPG and Former DDG, NIC) highlights in a recent conversation with Sushant Dubey (CEO - E-Governance Practice, Uneecops), the ultimate hallmark of success in e-governance is invisibility. When a citizen can avail of a service without needing a manual or a middleman, that is when technology has finally learned to speak the human language.

Today, technology ceases to be a "tool" and becomes a silent utility like electricity or water.

And it is true - the real measure of digital success isn't the number of services online. It's whether a first-generation smartphone user in a small town feels the same ease navigating a government portal as a startup founder in Bengaluru.

Conversations like these capture the true evolution of India’s digital backbone. For decades, "digital transformation" meant teaching people how to use computers. Today, we are no longer service-seekers navigating complex systems; the systems are navigating us!

We often talk about tech as the great equalizer. But as technology disappears into the background of our lives, the real differentiator becomes our philosophy of work.

On Uneecops InSight Podcast Series with Mr. Sushant Dubey (CEO, E-Governance Practice, Uneecops), three distinguished e-governance leaders - Dr. Neeta Verma (Former DG, NIC & Advisor, Election Commission of India), Shri Deepakk Chandra Misra (Advisor (IT), DARPG; Former DDG, NIC) and Surendra Nath Tripathi ji (Former Secretary, Govt of India & Former DG, IIPA) discussed the difference between wanting to 'live' in a space and 'building' the house.

The takeaway for the next generation of builders:

- You cannot build a high-performance AI on a foundation of low-quality data. Your output will only ever be as good as your input.

- Never give away your judgment. Use AI to fuel your strategy, but keep the moral and professional accountability firmly in your own hands.

- The rush for recognition is the enemy of actual achievement. Gandhiji once said the earth is enough for everyone’s needs, but not everyone's greed.

Stop competing for credit. Start competing to solve the problems that actually move the needle. We mean, build for impact, not just for the highlight reel.

Your app works great on a MacBook. But does it work for a farmer in rural Bihar on a 4G connection? 📱

In this episode of Uneecops Insight, Dr. Neeta Verma (Former DG, NIC & Advisor, Election Commission of India) joins Sushant Dubey (CEO, e-Governance Practice) to break down why the smallest screen should be our biggest priority.

Because even today, in many regions, the smartphone is the only screen. So, if your app works on mobile, it works for everyone.

It puts the power of your application in the user's pocket, 24/7.

Our takeaway: When you're building for a billion+ people, design isn't decoration, it's democracy. And as we design for the thumb before the mouse, we stop building "features" and start building accessibility.

That's how we can bring essential services to the palm of every citizen’s hand.

She unpacked this and so much more in a candid conversation. Watch full episode here --> https://lnkd.in/gTXzG3ek

How do you keep a nation running when the world stands still?

In this snippet from the Uneecops Insight Podcast Series, Dr. Neeta Verma (Former Director General, National Informatics Centre and Former Advisor, Election Commission of India) shares the incredible story of how the Indian government transitioned online during COVID-19.

In conversation with our CEO of e-Governance practice, Sushant Dubey, she says that while Aarogya Setu was a household name, the backbone of this transformation was another product that ensured governance didn't stop even when offices were closed.
