Why is my PC stuck on a black screen with a cursor after the login?
-Try the following

Open Task Manager by the shortcut key Ctrl+Shift+Esc
Then click on ‘File’ in the top left corner and then click on ‘Run new task’ and type in explorer.exe, do not check the ‘Create this task with administrative privileges’ box. If it does not work, do the same thing but with the the ‘Create this task with administrative privileges’ (I’ll be calling this Run as Admin Box cause writing that is too long) box checked.
Hit Ctrl+Win+Shift+B on your keyboard. Wait 5 min and check
Again open task manager and do the same thing as in the 2nd point but instead type ‘%localappdata%’ and hit enter. If it does not work do the same thing but with the ‘Run as Admin’ Box checked)
If none of these work try using system restore
Did it happen after an update? The uninstall the update by going to control panel
And lastly if nothing works, just reset the PC, cause that will definitely fix the problem
And if this still does not fix the problem, something is wrong with your hardware itself and you need to take it to a tech guy. Ai computer

What is the difference between gen 12 and gen 13?

There are a few differences….

I’m writing about the desktop versions, not the laptop versions

The memory controller has been improved. 13th Gen processors will support higher memory frequencies both out of the box and overclocked.

The cache/Ring speeds have been improved.

13th Gen processors have higher core clock frequencies. The all-core Turbo-Boost speed of the 12900k is 4.9GHz, whereas the all-core TurboBoost speed of the Core i7–13700k is 5.3GHz. This is P-Cores, not E-Cores.

13th Gen processors have more E-Cores. The i9 has 16x E-Cores, the i7 and most i5 processors have 8x E-Cores.

The Core i5–13400f has 4x E-Cores, whereas the 12400f has no E-Cores.

L2 cache has been increased. The i9–12900k and i7–13700k both have the same amount of P-Cores and E-Cores. However, the 12900k has 14MB of L2 cache and the 13700k has 24MB of L2 cache. Both have 30MB of L3 cache. I would have picked the 13900k for this comparison, but the 12900k and 13700k make for a better Apples to Apples comparison because both have the same core count. IMHO, it doesn’t make much sense to buy a 12900k since the 13700k is better in most areas.

The chatGPU answer may try to tell you that 12th Gen processors are “officially” supported by 600-series boards, and 13th Gen processors are “officially” supported by 700-series boards…. but this is mostly wrong in the case of 12th Gen processors. 12th Gen processors will work just as well in 700-series boards as they do in 600-series boards. 13th Gen processors will work just fine in 600-series boards that have had the BIOS updated.
