Last week at the Apple Developer Centre in Bengaluru, our founder, Namita Gupta, shared the Airveda story. It didn't start as a "𝐛𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐚". It started with a DIY monitor and a mother’s mission to protect her daughter.

From those early days of skepticism in 2016 to today, working with individuals to help them manage their health better; with schools, offices, hotels and malls to help them ensure healthy indoor spaces; to partnering with the IITs, ICMR, AIIMs and the government to drive evidence based research, policy and health outcomes the journey has been defined by three things:
- 𝐏𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧: Starting because you can’t stop solving a problem you care deeply about.
- 𝐆𝐫𝐢𝐭: Staying with the problem for long periods of time is often the only way to solve hard problems.
- 𝐒𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐬 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠: Seeing a problem that feels impossible to solve reframing it as a data and engineering gap and then working across sectors (government, policy, research, citizens, and private industry) to close that gap.

One of the most resonant moments of the day was Namita’s take on the often-asked question, "𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞’𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐨𝐬𝐬?"
Her answer was simple: You don’t have to fit in. You just have to bring your perspective to the table and let deep, consistent work build your credibility.

* IIT Delhi’s signature is ‘Systems thinking with a strong bias for action.’
* You don’t need to know everything, you need to start and figure it out as you go
* The hardest problems sit across tech, economics, policy, and human behavior
* Solving them requires grit, long-term ownership and ability to sit with hard problems over long periods of time.

India has so many large, real-world problems that are still unsolved and each of them is an opportunity.
