The FIDE Chess Olympiad has officially concluded!

Team Ireland's Women finished with an absolute bang, taking down Albania with a 2.5 - 1.5 victory. With this stellar finish, the Women's squad outperformed the Open team—which is likely a first in the entire history of Irish Olympiad appearances!

Irish Open team battled hard but came up just short in their final round, dropping a 2.5 - 1.5 result to Canada.

Massive congratulations to the local hosts, Uzbekistan, for securing the overall title on home soil, and to China for taking home the gold in the Women's tournament.
