🎨Culture Night is coming to Kenmare and we are so excited for this one! 🎨

The Le Chéile Collective is taking over the Carnegie Arts Centre on Friday 18th September, for an incredible evening celebrating local creativity, design and culture.

The night kicks off at 6:30pm with a welcome reception and a live screen-printing demonstration by our very own Rosina Law-Braney in the foyer. Then at 8:00pm, Naoise Nunn will take to the stage to host a special design talk featuring a select group of local creatives, diving into what it is like living, working and creating right here in Kenmare. They will discuss the rich cultural history of Kenmare and explore how this influences their practice and inspires their creative process.

• Where: Carnegie Arts Centre, Kenmare
• When: Friday, 18th September | 6:30pm - 9:30pm
• Admission: Free (Tickets available on Eventbrite from 3rd September)

Support local art, catch up with familiar faces and come see what makes our creative community so special. See you there! 👩‍🎨✨

1 year in business and what an emotional rollercoaster it has been.

Online, everyone looks like they are doing great all of the time, but I am not going to sit here and pretend it was easy. The amount of times I looked up jobs on Indeed or thought 'why are you making it harder for yourself'? Multiple times.

What I naively didn't account for was how much time marketing and putting yourself out there would consume. There is a reason I love hiding behind a computer screen. 👩‍💻 But pushing past the cringe and doing things outside my comfort zone, like hosting an International Women's Day event with KBN and LEO in my family restaurant alongside my sister, where we took a trip down memory lane and spoke about our past experiences, has been so good for me.

What year one actually looked like:
• Launched websites across 3 different platforms (because every project is unique).
• Streamlined workflows, changed my CMS 3 times, set up a client portal (twice) and updated my proposal flow with built-in e-signatures.
• Won an award (still can't believe it!).
• Saw a logo I designed out in the wild.
• Collaborated with a digital design agency.
• Upgraded my desk and even got a treadmill (some days I only did 1500 steps! That has luckily changed).
• Found my people: became part of 3 brilliant communities (local creative group , plus Kerry Business Women's Network Kerry Businesswomen’s Network and Network Ireland national business network).

Losing a parent young gives you a heavy dose of life-is-short syndrome, which is why when opportunities come up, you just go for it. Web design for me is a culmination of past experiences in interior architecture, hospitality and UX, backed by years of management experience. I am so so grateful that I get to do this every day, help other businesses grow and I genuinely love what I do!

Most importantly, I definitely did not do this on my own. Emotional support matters just as much as business systems, and I couldn't have done it without my supportive friends and partner (technically fiancé, but I can't bring myself to say that word, must be the Irish in me haha).

Loved bringing the vision for CairnPoint Consulting to life! 🏔️

As well as the core visual identity and business cards, the project covered a full multi-page site built to move visitors naturally from first click to booking a call. I also created a custom slide deck template and a sharp LinkedIn banner so the whole launch felt connected.

Working with clients who trust the process makes all the difference. Swipe to read the full review from Cora! đź’¬

On that note, if you’ve used a local service provider recently, consider leaving them a quick Google review. It takes two minutes, costs nothing and gives a small business owner the best kind of boost (especially after a long day!). 🫶

And if you run a business yourself and haven't set up a Google Business Profile yet, make it your priority this week! It’s completely free, simple to set up and does absolute wonders for your local SEO. And did I mention that it's 100% free?!

Building a brand from scratch.

Some projects just feel right from the start, and this one with CairnPoint Consulting was one of them.

The client came to me with a registered business name, a target audience and a clear vision. They wanted the site to feel professional but warm, which exactly reflects the client themselves.

CairnPoint works with executive teams across Ireland, offering strategy ex*****on, workshop facilitation and leadership development. It is meaningful, senior-level work that helps organisations move forward with clarity and purpose. Ahead of officially starting work with companies, they needed a brand and digital presence that immediately reflected the high standard of what they deliver.

That is the brief in a nutshell. Building a brand from scratch, including a custom logo, colour palette, typography, full collateral and a website built with growth and expansion in mind from day one.

The goal was to build something that felt authoritative but not distant. Warm but not casual. Premium without being inaccessible. Executive clients are discerning. They notice when something feels off, and they notice when something feels exactly right. So every decision on this project was made with that exact audience in mind.

Along with the core visual identity and business cards, we built a full multi-page website with a clear journey from introduction to conversion, complete with a custom presentation deck template and a sharp LinkedIn banner to tie the whole launch together.

It has been an absolute pleasure collaborating with you Cora Creed, and I am so excited to watch your business grow. If you are starting a new business or sitting on an idea that needs a brand to match, send me a DM and let’s talk about it.

We have all been there. Trying to find a menu online only to find a blurry, three-year-old photo on Google.

Is your menu still a clunky PDF or a photo from 2023? Let us make it easy for your customers to see what you offer.

I am currently working on a clean, responsive menu design that is as easy to read as it is to order.

We have all seen websites that look great but don't really do anything for the business.

I don't think it has to be one or the other. You deserve a site that looks professional and hits your business goals.

That is why I focus on the "hidden" stuff: SEO, speed and clean code, from day one.
Swipe through to see what that looks like in practice.

I’ve one slot left for a project in August/September. If you're ready to get started, drop me a message!

I’ve had a few people ask me lately if I use AI to design my websites. The short answer is no! AI is not a designer, but it is a brilliant technical partner. When it comes to solving a complex coding problem, it saves me loads of time.

It’s just another tool in the belt to help me get your project finished faster and better.

A client asked me earlier this week what the difference was between a domain and hosting. It’s a question I hear all the time, so let’s skip the tech talk and break it down simply (you know I love a good metaphor!).

Think of your online presence like building a house. 🏠

But remember: a website is a living thing. Just like a real house, it isn’t a "one-and-done" deal, it requires maintenance. Think of your domain, website hosting and email hosting like your annual property tax or utility bills. There are ongoing yearly costs required to keep the lights on and your digital doors open.

Swipe through to see exactly how your domain, hosting and professional email all fit together under one roof. ➡️

Hopefully, this clears up the digital construction terms!

If you’re ready to start building your own digital home without the headache, let’s chat. Spaces for Q3 projects at Peak Pixel Design are open. 👩‍💻
