🤍 Made with love in Dublin by Karolina Badz

Hello, I'm Karolina. I’m originally from Poland, where I grew up in beautiful Sopot. Ireland became my precious new home over 13 years ago. I live in Howth, County Dublin with my better half Eoin and a rather large collection of plants. I have always had a love for arts and crafts. My Mum was very lucky - a piece of paper, a pen and scissors used to keep me busy (and quiet) for hours since before

I can remember. It hasn't changed much. I draw, doodle and make things in my free time. I love the creative process and how mindful, calm and happy it makes me. And Anulka is just that - a way to share my creative makings with you. Anulka is my arty alter ego. It comes from a nickname my Grandmother gave me for some unknown reason, and I love it 🙂

I’m inspired by nature and art history. My love for nature comes from growing up near the Baltic Sea and forests, as well as living near Burrow beach and Howth, and having the most spectacular landscapes and wildlife at my doorstep. My love for art has a long story and resulted in an even longer education path... I have a BA & MA in history of art, and a PhD in Digital Humanities. I'm also passionate about all things digital & heritage and I'm very lucky to do exactly that for a living. I have a dream job at Noho and work with the most creative people in the field. Oh, have I mentioned photography? Another love to add... Have a look yourself here. That's about me in a nutshell. Thanks for stopping by! Karolina

This is one of my favourite commissions for weddings and wedding anniversaries. 🤍

The idea of two imperfect wishing stones, perfectly aligned, feels so simple yet so meaningful, doesn’t it?

The actual stones, handpicked somewhere along the Howth coast, are part of the commission. You can keep them in your pocket as a little reminder of someone you love, or return them to the sea when you make a wish (that’s what wishing stones are for!). 🪨 ✨

Get in touch if you’d like to commission a piece like this.

This watercolour painting of a grey heron highlights its long, elegant shape and soft grey-blue feathers.

I think nature punished herons a little - it gave them those beautiful, elegant looks, but forgot to give them a beautiful voice! 😂 That loud, harsh croaking is something else, especially when they get annoyed by seagulls trying to steal their food around Howth.

The painting is sold, but fine art prints are available — please DM me for more info.

🦀 This original watercolour painting of a crab highlights its rust-red shell, intricate legs and beautifully structured form.

Crabs are such ordinary companions of rock pools, beaches and harbours, but their shells hold so much detail, symmetry and character. In this painting, I wanted to capture that mix of strength and small shoreline wonder.

The painting is for sale; fine art prints also available - please DM me for more info.
