A new abstract collage based on the idea of being interconnected or woven. Where people, cultures and ecosystems are all relying on each other now more than ever before. This image speaks of a world where we need to be more connected than devided.

New design for collage artwork titled “Playing with Nature”.

This design almost looks like a game board but the world and its ailing health is not a game….

Playing with Nature is a metaphor for what the world is doing right now…. While all our attention is focused on wars, displaced people and dare I say it the “T” word. Environmental issues have understandably been deprioritised but how long can this go? That is the big question.

Show opening tonight at Finch Gallery London. 6pm PV.

Delighted to be part of this show. A large show of mainly small works and some larger pieces. All work was made in response to a passage from the dead by James Joyce.

“A few light taps upon the pane made him turn to the window. It had begun to snow again. He watched sleepily the flakes, silver and dark, falling obliquely against the lamplight. The time had come for him to set out on his journey westward. Yes, the newspapers were right: snow was general all over Ireland. It was falling on every part of the dark central plain, on the treeless hills, on the Bog of Allen and, farther westward, softly falling into the dark mutinous Shannon waves. It was falling, too, upon every part of the lonely churchyard on the hill where Michael Furey lay buried. It lay thickly drifted on the crooked crosses and headstones, on the spears of the little gate, on the barren thorns. His soul swooned slowly as he heard the snow falling faintly through the universe and faintly falling, like the descent of their last end, upon all the living and the dead”

The first of 12 images from my new work for 2026. Made using some of my sketches from gardens that I visited during 2025.

Shape and colour are my visual language. I like to strip away all detail to reveal a much more simplified form. I love to play with pattern also a nod to my past as a printed textiles designer. Its when I am most happiest!
