Folks, anyone with avast free anti virus you may be missing an update. To check double click on the avast shortcut on the desktop or the avast logo down on the right hand side beside your clock. This will open avast and if you need an update there will be an update button there so click it and when prompted restart your computer. Folks, another email scam doing the rounds now is from [email protected], they are claiming you are owed money back and to click a link to enter your details, please do not do this, more information is on this link.

A new e-mail scam posing as telecoms provider Eir is redirecting customers to a "refund" page that asks them for bank account details.

Please be careful, there are people ringing lan lines claiming to be from EIR (may use other companies) and saying there is issues with you computer/laptop and need to come into your computer to solve problems and they may look for payment. Do not let anyone have access to you computer or give them card details, this is a scam. Just hang up the phone or tell them you don't have a computer.
