For 11 years, Windows did not really let you say no to updates.
On April 24, 2026, that quietly changed.

Microsoft just handed back update control to Windows 11 users:
pause is now effectively indefinite, with a calendar interface
and no cap on how many times you can extend.

What is actually in the announcement?
