Transcap. Our unique approach to amplifier design. Today, we are virtually the only ones left in the world who build amplifiers with single-ended output-capacitor topology.

The original output capacitor design was based on simplicity and low cost, and although it was capable of great things, it couldn't compete with those offering higher rated power. The turning point came in the 1990s, when (now) traditional DC-coupled amplifiers became widely accepted—and cheaper to manufacture.

Virtually everyone stopped manufacturing output-capacitor amplifiers because they became more expensive to produce, had lower nominal power output, and required more specialized technical knowledge to build. That's a shame, because with all their faults, these amplifiers already possessed outstanding sonic potential, like rough diamonds that needed a thorough polishing.

We chose our own path and started to refine, modify and improve this topology. We have poured decades of work into polishing our Transcap technology, because we believe these devices can deliver music like no other, a truly, genuinely engaging and unique presentation - one that resonates with the love of music.

For decades the name Heed Obelisk was equal to a truly unique experience in the vast world of audio amplifiers. It was always different. It was always the safe haven for those seeking the essence of music, the sheer pleasure of it.

The Obelisk of today is much more.

For more than 30 years we stood faithfully by the original idea, the amplifier topology with output capacitors. It can be one of the most beautifully sounding systems, if implemented with exceptional care. While practically all other manufacturers have abandoned this technology due to its higher cost and the requirement of unique knowledge and skills, we have evolved it to a higher level.

During this evolution the design of the original Obelisk started to look quite different. It became something unique, and we named it Transcap. It is a collection of ideas, circuits, implementation methods, proportions, and most importantly, a sound signature that altogether contribute to the trademark sound of our amplifiers.

We religiously protect the heritage of the old Obelisks, the rendition of captivating and immersive music. The Obelisk Integrated is true to this tradition, elevating the core virtues to the next level, while extending the functionalities even more. It is the first full size Obelisk of the millenia, doubling all the goodness of its ancestors.

And it is filled to the brim.
