Two Krishnas. One podcast. Zero small talk.🎙️
Our VP Krishna Bulusu joined Krishna Chandra Eluri on Norstella's Proof of Concept to talk AI in drug discovery.

In a field moving this fast, Pharma x TechBio partnerships are becoming the real competitive advantage. They de-risk innovation, speed up adoption, and help teams make better-informed decisions earlier.

That's also the value behind our vLab™ and Virtual Assays: they bring predictive experimentation at computational scale into existing pharma workflows, so teams can explore more biology and build confidence in the calls that matter before committing time and resources in the wet lab.

Worth a listen. 👇🏻

Next week Bence Czakó, Milán Sztilkovics and Matteo Tardelli will be at ISMB in Washington, DC, between July 12–16. 🗺️

Bence and Milán will present a poster on SCAPE: Sampling-Calibrated Adjustment of Perturbation Effects. SCAPE is Turbine’s Perturb-seq normalization method for correcting perturbation effect sizes, helping to make perturbation data more reliable and comparable across experimental contexts.

The method is already being used across several in-house projects, so if you are attending ISMB, it is definitely worth stopping by to hear more about the details. We are very excited to bring SCAPE to the broader computational biology community.

Presentation details
📅 July 15 | 15:35 ET during the MLCSB session
📍International Ballroom Center, Washington Hilton

In case you cannot make it, you can also find us in the Poster Hall (Columbia), during the poster sessions between 10:00–11:00 and 16:00–16:40 ET with Poster C-401.

We would love to see you there and walk you through SCAPE in more depth or simply have a chat. 👋 ☕

Resources like DepMap and Open Targets have transformed how researchers can uncover cancer vulnerabilities in early discovery. The next frontier is turning those insights into stronger, clinically more relevant decisions: which targets to prioritize, which patient cohorts to position for, and what hurdles to expect emerging in translation.

This article discusses how Virtual Assays can augment existing discovery toolkits by enabling rapid assessment and ranking of key hypotheses, and de-risking decisions through a mechanistic understanding of target biology.

Read the full article to learn more through practical examples.

New tools are building on DepMap's foundations to help innovative companies identify hidden clinical positioning opportunities in competitive spaces.

A few weeks back, Csilla Hegedüs and Krishna Bulusu held a webinar on new possibilities that Virtual Assays open for early discovery.

Using Turbine’s Virtual Lab, Csilla and Krishna showed how millions of simulated experiments can help uncover hidden dependencies, synthetic lethal pairs, and mechanistic insights to not only accelerate early discovery workflows, but also help rank and de-risk target candidates.

Thank you to everyone who joined us live and contributed to the conversation!

The race is over, but this event was never just about the finish line. 🏃🏻‍♂️

This year, we once again took on Brutál Futás in support of Démétér Alapítvány, whose house helps families stay together while children undergo long and difficult medical treatments. Every donation helps create comfort, stability, and hope for families who need it most.

A huge thank you to everyone who supported, encouraged, and helped our case. If you’d still like to contribute, the fundraise remains open until July 15: https://eu1.hubs.ly/H0wpdRG0

Mud? Check.

Obstacles? Check.

Team spirit? Absolutely.

The course was tough, but we passed Brutál Futás with flying horrors. A huge congratulations to everyone who took part and represented Turbine out on the course. 🏃🏻‍♀️

And while the race is behind us, the reason we run remains just as important.

If you’d like to support Démétér Alapítvány, donations are open until July 15: https://eu1.hubs.ly/H0wgjyf0

On June 8th, Turbine HQ filled with a new kind of energy 💙

During EACR in Budapest, we welcomed more than 70 researchers, professionals and enthusiasts from around the world. What unfolded wasn’t a formal event, but something organic and authentic, with conversations flowing naturally, ideas colliding, and new connections taking shape in real time.

We believe innovation often begins in these in-between moments, when anyone from students to senior decision-makers come together to openly exchange perspectives. It was inspiring to create space for this.

Thank you to everyone who joined us!

What happens when a scientist transforms into a Virtual Lab Superuser?

Meet Eszterke, a Translational Scientist at Turbine. Her challenge? An approved ADC with proven clinical value, but a lingering question: could it work in other indications too? Finding those opportunities through traditional wet lab assays would require navigating enormous datasets and endless publications, all to arrive at a list of hypotheses that still lack ranking and mechanistic explanation. Instead, Eszterke turns to the Virtual Lab.

In under 5 minutes, you’ll see how Eszterke:
▪️ investigates massive Virtual Assays that cover thousands of cell lines treated with her chosen ADC,
▪️ identifies top responders and immediately flags which cell lines respond best,
▪️ cuts through the noise and gets comprehensive, actionable results in just a few hours.

No coding. Just intuitive work in a lab without limits. The result? Better-informed decisions, and a faster path to uncovering the full potential of therapeutic molecules.

Watch Episode 2 of our Superuser series and see how this all works.

🔮 What’s next for Virtual Cells?

A few weeks ago, our team — Kristóf Szalay, Dániel Veres, Gerold Csendes, and Imre Gáspár — visited the brilliant minds at Helmholtz Munich to discuss where Virtual Cell technology is heading and what it could mean for the future of drug discovery.

Cutting-edge research has always been integral to Turbine. As we continue productizing virtual assays, our North Star remains the same: understanding biology beyond the limits of the wet lab. This is the work we live every day. And now, we’re taking it further.

We’re excited to introduce TRAIL (Turbine Research & AI Labs), the computational biology arm of Turbine.

TRAIL is where our scientists and researchers push the boundaries of what’s discoverable about human cells: building the models that power our Virtual Lab and shaping what predictive biology looks like tomorrow.

Explore TRAIL’s channels to follow what we’re building.
