The AI Evolution: How to Future-Proof Your Career

This seminar will delve into the ways in which Artificial Intelligence (AI) is poised to transform our jobs and careers. Nowadays healthcare is increasingly tailored to an individual’s unique genetic profile and care needs. The ambition of personalized healthcare requires and has generated an unprecedented amount of sensitive clinicogenomic data to advance research and health services. A central dilemma for policymakers, industry partners, health providers and researchers alike is how to accelerate these advancements by sharing data while still safeguarding patient’s privacy.

Synthetic data generation, a critical development in data science and artificial intelligence, has the potential to significantly mitigate patient privacy concerns in data sharing while maintaining research value. This modeling technique generates a new dataset with the same statistical properties as the original dataset, but does not compromise the privacy of individuals. Demonstration projects have been undertaken in several industries such as banking and healthcare.

AI is getting increasingly relevant within retail and supply chain, when speed-to- market and tough competition pressure brands and retailers to keep up. In this session, Terence will share, based on his prior research and client experience, why AI is relevant among retail and supply chain, and its applications (such as personalization, retail crime prevention and on-shelf availability) that worth the attention of brands, retails and manufacturers.

Terence Ng is currently a Senior Analyst in Coresight Research, focusing on research related to B2B and B2C surveys, US retail technology startups, the Metaverse and Chinese consumers. Prior to joining Coresight, Terence worked in international research agencies such as Nielsen and Ipsos, HK retail conglomerate AS Watson Group and the HKSAR Government assisting in the Ocean Park Rethink initiative. Terence has also been contributing quarterly articles to the Philippines Retailing Magazine.

Jeanne Lim from beingAI will present her thoughts on these complicated human / AI interaction issues. She is the former CEO and Chief Marketing Officer of Hanson Robotics, the creator of Sophia the Robot, and held marketing leadership roles at Dell, Cisco, Danaher, and Apple, where she was the product and business manager responsible for launching Apple’s most groundbreaking products in the region. She started her career as a Group Management Trainee at John Swire & Sons.
