⚠️Facebook Messenger demotes Chatbots!

Three years ago, chatbots were central to the strategy of Facebook Messenger. Today they and games and companies are being hidden from view in the app. Facebook Messenger now eliminates the Discover tab as it focuses on speed and usability rather than specific usefulness like the WeChat in China.

The changes are part of a larger Messenger overhaul that reorients the People tab around Stories as Facebook continues to attempt to conquer the ephemeral model copied from Snapchat on the social media. The People tab now defaults to a full-screen sub-tab of the stories of friends and needs a tap on the Active sub-tab to see which friends are now online.
