In case you installed the extension mentioned in the previous post, please follow the steps below as suggested by one of the SDLT members Seth Forrester.

Everyone who was a victim of the recently spreading scam on facebook (the he/she videos watched one):
YOU NEED TO FOLLOW THESE STEPS TO PROTECT YOUR COMPUTER AND INFORMATION

We don't know a lot yet about what this extension was capable of doing, so please take note of the following safety precautions.

1) REMOVE THE EXTENSION. If you don't know how to do this, go to your settings > extensions > find "search center" > remove

2) Delete all of the facebook posts the extension made, and make sure not to click any links you have been tagged in

3) CHANGE YOUR PASSWORDS. Depending on how good the scam extension was, they could have passwords ranging from just facebook to anything you've saved in chrome. I'd advise changing the passwords to all important accounts you have, asap.

4) If you really are paranoid, clear your cookies. Sometimes malicious malware can be stored in your cookies, tracking your typing or your internet browsing. Do this by going to your settings > Show advanced settings (at bottom of page) > Clear browsing data > Uncheck everything but cookies and cached files (unless you feel like deleting browser history as well.)

Facebook exploit warning
Few SDLT members reported a possible facebook exploit that is spreading very fast today.

If you were tagged to a facebook video and you were being redirected to a site "tienngao", you will be asked to install a chrome extension. Please do NOT install it as it may create security breach on your computer.

As usual, if you are being redirected/tagged in some strange website, do NOT install anything until you are absolutely sure about the program/extension you are installing.
