Hon. Samuel Asamoah, the Kwahu East District Chief Executive (DCE), together with key stakeholders,including the Director of Fisheries, the District Agric Director, and other security agencies, engaged fishermen in the district on the matter. The meeting was held at Kwahu Kotoso.
During the discussion, fishermen raised concerns about insecurity on the Afram River.
Nana Kwaakye Owusu Ansah II, the Kotosohene who doubles as Kwahu Akwatufourhene, appealed to the people of Kotoso to respect the law and comply with the decision of the Assembly.
In his closing remarks, Hon. Samuel Asamoah warned fishermen to stop using unapproved fishing nets and chemicals to catch fish. He added that a special task force will be established to monitor insecurity and clamp down on illegal fishing activities on the river.
