*Hon. Lawyer Mrs Barbara Oteng-Gyasi Attends Inauguration of Abroso Ladies and Gents.*

The Parliamentary Candidate for NPP Prestea Huni-Valley and the President of Wassa Hemaa Foundation, Hon Lawyer Mrs Barbara Oteng-Gyasi as the Special Guest joined many dignitaries at the launching of Abroso Ladies and Gents at Himan Community Centre on Sunday 21st January 2024.

Speaking on the occasion, Hon.Lawyer Mrs Barbara Oteng-Gyasi applauded Hon. Alex Yaw Barko, the Himan Assemblyman and Chairman of Abroso Ladies and Gents Association for the innovative idea of bringing the youth together for the progress of Himan and Prestea.

An amount of Ten Thousand Ghana Cedis (*Gh 10,000.00* ) was presented by the Special Guest to support the activities of the new Association and appealed to the youth to focus on activities to promote the welfare of the youth and development of the Community. She further admonished them not to allow politicians who are not committed to development to lure them into engaging in acts that will affect the peace of the town in particular and the nation generally during this election year.

Hon. Alex Yaw Darko affectionately referred to as Abroso thanked Hon. Lawyer Mrs Barbara Oteng-Gyasi for honouring the invitation, and touted the many achievements of Hon. Barbara Oteng-Gyasi in the Constituency, including Himan town roads, a new Circuit Court, and construction of a Bridge on the Ankobra river. He also indicated that in collaboration with Hon Barbara Oteng-Gyasi, improvement work would soon commence on office, number one, and Subri-kwanta road.

Hon Barbara Oteng-Gyasi was accompanied to the event by NPP Constituency Executives, Coordinators, Polling Station Executives, and Party members.

*PCD CONDEMNS KWESI BLAY OVER BLATANT LIES AGAINST BARBARA OTENG GYASI, CHALLENGES HIM TO PROVIDE EVIDENCE* .*

The leadership of Prestea Communicators for Development (PCD), a leading youth group in Prestea in the Western Region wishes to condemn the former MP, Mr. Kwesi Blay for blatant lies churned to the public which has greatly tarnished the image of Hon. Lawyer Barbara Oteng Gyasi.

On 16/01/2024, Mr. Kwesi Blay was interviewed on Asomdwe FM in Prestea concerning the ailing Future Gold Resources(FGR) Mine (Formerly Golden Star Bogoso/Prestea Mine). To the shocking of the public, Mr. Kwesi Blay stated emphatically, that, “ Barbara Oteng Gyasi has brought people to purchase the tailings of FGR, a company that is in need”. This pronouncement has greatly dented the image of the former MP. On 17/01/2024, Hon. Barbara Oteng Gyasi also granted interview on the same station, which she stated that, “ am not part of FGR management, how can I sell their tailings? I am challenging the former MP to provide evidence, else I will sue him’.

We at Prestea Communicators for Development (PCD) believe that, FGR holds the economy of Prestea, and issues surrounding the mines should be dealt with with honesty. We are therefore adding our voice to the call, that, Mr. Kwesi Blay, as a matter of urgency make his evidence available to the good people of Prestea. We call on him to come and apologize to the whole Prestea community, if indeed, he knew he was dishonest, and also apologize to Hon. Barbara Oteng Gyasi.

This year being election year, politics in Prestea should be based on what you can do to help our development, and such irresponsible behaviours exhibited by Mr. Kwesi Blay must never be tolerated on our radio stations and public platforms.
