Eating Disorder Awareness Week is a time to bring attention to the serious issue of eating disorders and mental health. It's also a time to celebrate those in recovery and working towards a healthier future. This year, let's take the conversation about eating disorders out of the shadows and into the light. Here are some ways you can get involved:

1. Talk about it: Start conversations with your friends, family, and co-workers about eating disorders and mental health. Help break down the stigma surrounding these issues so that more people feel comfortable seeking help.
2. Educate yourself: Take some time this week to learn more about eating disorders and how they can impact someone's life. There are many great resources available online or through your local library.
3. Reach out: If you or someone you know is struggling with an eating disorder, reach out for help! There are many organizations that offer support and treatment options for those affected by these illnesses.
4 Show support: Show your support for Eating Disorder Awareness Week by wearing purple, sharing information on social media, or donating to a worthy cause. Every little bit helps raise awareness!

It's okay to not be okay.
There's no shame in asking for help.
There's no shame in being open and honest about how you really feel.
So don't bottle up your emotions and try to solve everything on your own.
Next time when asks how are you?
Don't just say I am fine.
Think about how you really feel and genuinely express yourself.
This will open up a conversation with someone who cares.

It's okay to feel whatever you're feeling. It's okay to be vulnerable. It's okay to need help or simply want to be alone.

Your emotions are valid and deserve to be acknowledged. Do what you need to do to prioritise yourself, your emotions and your mental well-being first. Take time out to reorganise your thoughts and get yourself back.

Your emotions do not define you. They are just something you are feeling at a specific point in time and eventually this phase will pass.

So take care of yourself and do not dwell in your feelings.
