Background History of Eid Mubarak (Eid al-Fitr)

Eid Mubarak, commonly referring to Eid al-Fitr, is one of the most important celebrations in Islam. It marks the end of Ramadan, the holy month during which Muslims fast from dawn to sunset, engage in prayer, and practice self-discipline and charity.

The origins of Eid al-Fitr date back to the time of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in the 7th century. After the migration (Hijrah) to Madinah, the Prophet established two annual Islamic festivals—Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha—as days of joy, gratitude, and community celebration.

Eid al-Fitr begins with a special prayer performed in congregation, followed by acts of charity known as Zakat al-Fitr, which ensures that even the less privileged can partake in the celebration. The day is marked by sharing meals, wearing new or best clothes, visiting family and friends, and spreading goodwill.

In essence, Eid Mubarak is not just a celebration—it is a reflection of spiritual growth, gratitude, unity, and compassion after a month of devotion.

I once met a young man in a market who had a simple dream.
He wanted to start a small business.
Not a big company.
Not a tech startup.
Just a small shop.

But he had three problems:
No space.
No capital.
No support.

So the dream stayed a dream.
Across Africa, millions of people are like him.
They have the ambition to build something.
But the infrastructure to support them doesn't exist.

That is why we started DorHob.

DorHob is building the infrastructure that allows aspiring entrepreneurs to start businesses with minimal capital and risk.
Modular retail spaces.
Digital business tools.
Supplier networks.

A system designed to turn small dreams into real businesses.
Because sometimes people don't need motivation. They just need infrastructure. And when infrastructure exists, entrepreneurs will rise.

Africa doesn't lack talent.

Africa lacks systems that empower its talent.

DorHob is building that system.

Every day across Africa, millions of people wake up with the ambition to start a business.

But before they can sell their first product, they face the same barrier: rent.
In many cities, opening a small retail shop requires one or two years of advance rent, which can cost thousands of dollars.

Because of this, millions of traders operate in small informal stalls with no infrastructure, no inventory systems, and no digital records. Without transaction history, they cannot access credit. Without infrastructure, they cannot scale. DorHob changes this.

We created a system where anyone can start a modern retail business with a Smart Pallet space and a mobile phone. Instead of spending thousands on rent, entrepreneurs can start for about $25, manage their inventory digitally, accept digital payments, and build the financial history needed to grow.

What we are building is bigger than retail.

DorHob is building the digital infrastructure that will transform Africa’s informal economy into a network of scalable businesses. And when millions of entrepreneurs grow, entire economies grow with them.

DorHob is giving aspiring entrepreneurs the opportunity to start a modern retail business with as little as $25 using our Smart Pallet System. No shop rent, no complex setup—just plug in and start selling. Join the future of African commerce today with DorHob.com. 🚀

06/03/2026

Africa’s informal retail economy is one of the largest untapped markets in the world, with millions of traders operating without infrastructure, technology, or access to finance. DorHob is building the foundational retail infrastructure that will digitize this entire ecosystem.

By combining low-cost Smart Pallet retail spaces, digital commerce tools, AI-powered analytics, and integrated payments, DorHob is turning millions of small traders into scalable, data-driven businesses.

As the network grows, DorHob becomes more than a retail platform—it becomes the operating system connecting traders, suppliers, banks, and consumers across Africa.

Our long-term vision is to power millions of businesses across multiple African markets, creating a platform capable of generating billions in transaction volume and becoming a $1B+ digital commerce infrastructure company.

We are currently raising a $3M round to expand our infrastructure and agent network as we scale toward digitizing millions of traders across Africa. I would appreciate the opportunity to briefly share our vision and explore whether DorHob could fit within your investment thesis.

Ghana at 69: Independence Day Overview 🇬🇭

Ghana celebrates its 69th Independence Day on March 6, 2026, marking 69 years since the country gained freedom from British colonial rule in 1957. The historic milestone made Ghana the first sub-Saharan African nation to achieve independence, inspiring many other African countries to fight for their sovereignty.

The independence movement was led by Kwame Nkrumah, Ghana’s first Prime Minister and later President, whose famous declaration “Ghana is free forever” symbolized the birth of a new nation.

Each year on Ghana Independence Day, the country celebrates with:

National parades and military displays

Cultural performances and traditional music

Speeches by national leaders

Community celebrations across the country

The 69th anniversary highlights Ghana’s journey in democracy, economic development, and regional leadership in Africa, while also inspiring citizens—especially the youth—to contribute to national growth and innovation.

🇬🇭 Theme of the celebration often focuses on unity, resilience, and building a prosperous future for the nation.

# # # Celebrating Africa Union Day: A Beacon of Unity and Progress

Every year on May 25th, African nations and their global allies come together to celebrate Africa Union Day, a day dedicated to recognizing the achievements of the African Union (AU) and reflecting on the continent's path towards unity, peace, and development. This significant occasion marks the anniversary of the founding of the Organization of African Unity (OAU) in 1963, which later transformed into the African Union in 2002.

# # # # The Historical Roots of Africa Union Day

Africa Union Day traces its origins to the formation of the OAU in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where leaders from 32 African countries signed the OAU Charter. This momentous event was driven by a shared vision of fostering solidarity among African nations, eradicating colonialism and apartheid, and promoting economic and political cooperation. The OAU laid the groundwork for a unified Africa, although it faced numerous challenges and limitations in achieving its ambitious goals.

The transformation of the OAU into the AU marked a significant shift in focus and structure, reflecting the evolving needs and aspirations of the continent. The AU aimed to accelerate the process of integration, promote democratic governance, and address socio-economic challenges more effectively. This evolution signaled a renewed commitment to the ideals of Pan-Africanism and the realization of a more united and prosperous Africa.

# # # # Celebrating Progress and Unity

Africa Union Day is more than a historical commemoration; it is a celebration of the progress made by African nations towards greater unity and collective self-reliance. The AU has been instrumental in facilitating cooperation across a wide array of sectors, including peace and security, trade and economic development, health, and education.

One of the notable achievements of the AU is the establishment of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), which aims to create a single market for goods and services, facilitating trade and investment across the continent. This initiative is expected to boost intra-African trade, stimulate economic growth, and create jobs, thereby contributing to the overall development of member states.

# # # # Addressing Challenges and Looking Ahead

While Africa Union Day is a time for celebration, it is also an occasion for reflection on the challenges that still lie ahead. Issues such as political instability, economic inequality, and health crises, exemplified by the recent COVID-19 pandemic, continue to pose significant obstacles to the continent's progress. The AU's efforts in mediating conflicts, promoting democratic governance, and addressing public health emergencies have been crucial in navigating these challenges.

Looking ahead, the AU's Agenda 2063 outlines a strategic framework for the socio-economic transformation of the continent over the next 50 years. This ambitious plan envisions a prosperous, integrated, and peaceful Africa, driven by its own citizens and representing a dynamic force in the global arena.

# # # # The Role of the Global Community

The global community plays a vital role in supporting the AU's mission and the broader development goals of African nations. International partnerships, investments, and collaborations are essential in addressing the continent's challenges and unlocking its vast potential. Africa Union Day serves as a reminder of the importance of solidarity, not only among African nations but also between Africa and the rest of the world.

# # # # Conclusion

Africa Union Day is a testament to the enduring spirit of unity and resilience that defines the African continent. It is a day to honor the achievements of the African Union, celebrate the rich cultural diversity of its member states, and recommit to the shared vision of a peaceful, prosperous, and integrated Africa. As the continent continues to navigate its path towards development, the ideals of Pan-Africanism and collective progress remain as relevant and vital as ever.
