So blinking chuffed to have shown the actual dies that make my die cut cards , this week at my recent trade show !

The die is like a cookie cutter for greeting cards. It can be made bespoke to any shape and size I like, and I have to design it all myself with the cut and crease marks - which translates into metal wood and foam.
The paper village die is particularly interesting because I have created so many extra folds and cuts than a normal greeting card. I think they have 15 creases (as opposed to one central crease) and 5 cutting blades within the die.

I absolutely love a behind the scenes / factory tour / how’s it’s made vibes - and so many customers at the show loved it too.

My fabulous printers for my die cut ranges are and they were also exhibiting so they very kindly brought them along, and also took them away at the end of the show. Infact this paper village die is going on the press this week, as I’ve already placed my bulk order for the stock!

PG invites are all in the post and im so excited that i managed to get this vision to come to life!

…And inspiration came from an interesting source. I knew i wanted something SHINY and i couldnt quite find the right idea, but then i was reading a book called Whats your Dream by Simon Squibb and he says ‘your existing customers know when they dont feel like the shiny new penny anymore’ and I just KNEW what I had to do.

One of my goals this year is to focus on my existing customers, make sure im in contact with them more, checking in, nuturing those relationships.
And i just thought this would be the perfect idea. A lucky, shiny coin, to represent how lucky ifeel to be working with such fabulous retailers all over the UK.

On the back, a hand-written invite to my upcoming trade show.

I paired this lucky coin with a special pre-trade show edition of my paper Newsletter ‘the magpie nest’ - and packed them up in beautiful glassine envelopes, and off they go to my existing stockists 📮

Hope to see you there!
You can find me on stand 118 on the village green.

A slower behind the scenes today for part 3 of my 3D range - which I think I’ll be calling Paper Villge.
Finished this little witchy shop today - I think! Mock up 4 which is actually the quickest I’ve finalised a design.
It was a lot of fun to consider what will go in the windows ; me and my mum and my sister love a shop like this !

To note also the design takes me 2 whole days to create - it’s a very patient / grounding process to create this range ☺️ it certainly can NOT be rushed - I think you would be able to tell.

5 weeks today. In 5 weeks we will be pouring all the amazing best selling ideas out of our brains and into our stands! We’ll work out how to make our foam board walls look fabulous (🫠) …And we’ll welcome all the best Greeting Cards buyers in allll the land and we’ll get to all hang out with each other and have free coffee all day long and then crumple into a tired mess at the end 🥰

My 3D Houses / Village greeting card range development… part 2! Thought I’d go for a carousel this time. The last few weeks have been all about more new designs, and then a serious switch up to change the entire structure of this card. Which was kinda stress but also fun.
Now I need to send off some test prints, also with different card stock (to go uncoated or silk, that is the question! And what weight?! Quite important when it needs to be handled differently to a normal card).

I’m feeling relieved to have sussed out my display options

What I really need now Is a name for the range! I really like the word ‘village’ because it suggest there are more, it feels collectible and I think having a few of these up ok your mantlepiece would be super cool. They’re not shops, they’re not houses, they’re buildings - but that sounds very boring.
Very much hoping to answer comes to me in my sleep 🤣

Do not rush me when I am card shopping. Yes this is a threat 🤩
