BlueProof has officially been named a finalist for Hospitality, Tourism & Events StartUp of the Year at the East of England regional final of the UK StartUp Awards 2026. Being recognised like this in our own region means a lot after all the work we have put in lately. If we win the regional title we get to head to the national final at in September. We are proud to represent the East of England alongside some incredible businesses. It feels good to see the effort paying off.

BLUEPROOF FOR HOSPITALS

Complex clinical environments can be overwhelming, but we believe our technology can help.

We’ve been exploring how BlueProof 3D models can be used as a wayfinding tool to reduce patient anxiety and improve the overall experience. Featured here is a project we developed for the Apheresis ward at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, allowing patients to virtually navigate their route before they even arrive.

Once on-site, the technology acts as a live wayfinding tool. Using smart algorithms, it calculates the shortest path to an appointment with turn-by-turn guidance, estimates the patient's time of arrival, and includes the ability to prioritise accessible routes for those who need them.

It’s a great example of how interactive digital twins can provide clarity and comfort in a healthcare setting.

If you’re working within a clinical environment and want to see how this tech could help your patients, we’d love to chat.

SHEBARA RESORT

Following on from our last post, here’s another 3D prototype we developed last year, this time for the stunning Shebara Resort on the Red Sea.

We used this concept to test how our tech could help guests explore these unique space-age pods before they even step foot on the island. By building out immersive VR views and interactive maps, we wanted to show how future guests could find their perfect spot on the reef.

It’s another great example of how we’re adapting our 3D platform for the luxury travel and hospitality space.

HARD ROCK HOTEL

We’re taking a quick look back at some work we developed last year for Hard Rock Hotel in Orlando, Florida.

The goal was to showcase how our tech can be used for internal navigation and immersive guest experiences. We built a VR feature allowing guests to virtually explore available rooms and pick their preferred view and layout before even arriving at the hotel.

It was a great project to test the versatility of our 3D engine and explore a completely different use case for the hospitality industry.

GREAT ST MARY'S

St Mary the Great is a Church of England parish which overlooks the market square in the heart of Cambridge. It is known locally as Great St Mary's to distinguish it from Little St Mary's, a much smaller church down the road.

Great St. Mary’s foundations were thought to have been laid around 1010 and it was first recorded in legal documents in 1205. It became the University of Cambridge church when scholars arrived in 1209; it was the centre from which the University grew, and the centre of the radius within which residence was required (3 miles for undergraduates).

The church also hosts the University Sermons and houses the University Organ and the University Clock. The latter chimes the Cambridge Quarters, a set of four bells which were later used by the clock tower of the Houses of Parliament (Big Ben).

KING'S COLLEGE CHAPEL

King’s College Chapel is the oldest surviving building within the College site. Work on this Chapel only started five years after King’s College was founded by Henry VI in 1441. Completed in 1515, the period during which it was constructed spanned the reign of six kings and the Wars of the Roses.

It is considered one of the finest examples of late Perpendicular Gothic English architecture and features the world's largest fan vault. It is perhaps the most iconic building in Cambridge and is commonly used as a landmark for the city.

THE BRIDGE OF SIGHS

The Bridge of Sighs is an iconic feature of St John’s College, and one of the most recognisable pieces of architecture in Cambridge.

Designed nearly 200 years ago by the architect Henry Hutchinson, it is the only covered bridge to cross the River Cam, and the only College bridge built in the Victorian Gothic style.

Since its construction in 1831 it has featured in thousands of photographs and artistic projects, as well as appearing in films including The Theory of Everything (2014) and Elizabeth: The Golden Age (2007). It has even had a car suspended from its arches, not once but twice, thanks to the ingenuity of student pranksters. Luckily on neither occasion was the grade I listed structure damaged.
