This week we released a new update for PPMS Podiatry, enabling integration with Heidi Health AI for the automatic creation of SOAP treatment notes.

Heidi uses the computer's microphone to record the conversation between you and the patient. You then dictate details of your treatment, and it generates SOAP notes for your review. Simply click "Copy," switch back to the PPMS Treatment screen, and select the "Transfer Heidi AI Notes" button to transfer the notes into your Notes field.

Heidi offers both a free and a paid version, with the latter including features for creating referral letters. However, you only need the free version to generate treatment notes.

This update will also be available in ppms-online with the next release in a few weeks.

Since the recent update to ppms-online earlier this month, we've received inquiries about adding appointment times to diaries. We removed the "Add Time" button to save space and to ensure that times are added to the correct clinic.

How to Add Appointment Times:

1. For Open Slots:

Double-click on any line in the diary that does not have a patient booked. This will open a popup menu with options to block/unblock the appointment and to add a time to the diary.

2. If the Diary is Fully Booked:

Double-click on any appointment time in the diary. This will provide you with the option to add a new time.

As well as using the popup menu to block out appointment times, if you are using a keyboard you can also hold down the SHIFT key (or CTRL) whilst clicking on the appointment that you want to block out.

So sorry, we've been quiet here on our socials! However we haven't been twiddling our thumbs!

Over the coming months, we are planning to spend most of our development work updating ppms-online. This is so, it includes the same features as PPMS Podiatry.

We have started by redesigning the user interface, when using ppms-online on a phone or tablet (portrait view). The layout of the screen is easier to read and there is now a side menu replacing the buttons at the bottom of the screen.

You can also choose what colour you would like the background theme. Hessian, blue, salmon, lemon and white.

Did you know that unlike others Tynedale Computers do not charge any extra for using the patient online booking facilities of PPMS Podiatry.

Providing that we host your data, the only extra charge would be for the text messages that are used during the booking process.

As the podiatrist, you have complete control in what patients can book. When, where and with whom. You can also choose whether to accept new patients or limit the facility to allow only your existing customers to book.

How is PPMS Podiatry different from other practice management systems?

PPMS Podiatry from Tynedale Computers puts the patient first!

Other Systems are based around the appointment diary. Whereas PPMS Podiatry is centred around the Patient Record Card.

Also, the medical history is easy to update and check every time you see a patient.

Click on the ‘No change to medication button’, to record that the patients were asked and document that there were no changes. However, if changes are made, these are audited so you know exactly when the amendments were completed.

Not all systems do this!

Do you know how to update your text messages on PPMS Podiatry from Tynedale Computers?

We have found text message reminders are extremely useful in preventing DNA’s.
It is often something you set up with Dave and then just use. Although there might be a time when you need to change the wording on the message. Perhaps you have a new practice phone number.

To change the message, look on the appointment diary (single or multi clinic). Then click on the preferences button, which is on the bottom right hand of the screen. When in preferences scroll down until you see SMS Appointment reminders. You can then see the message you have set and make any changes you need. Remember you only have 160 characters for your message.

When completed it is always advised to send out a test message. You can easily do this with the test message button.

For our Hosted PPMS Podiatry customers, we have built in some automation to help reduce the time spent on admin.

Automatic SMS text appointment reminders. When activated the messages are automatically sent out from our servers between 8am- 9am.
We also have the option to set up automatic email appointment reminders. Just like the text messages, when activated PPMS will automatically send from our servers, an email to those patients who have an appointment coming up. As a bonus, because it is an email, is there is no charge for this.

Patient Self Registration form.
At Tynedale Computers we are always trying to help reduce the admin side for podiatrists.

When you have a new patient, if they call the practice providing you have their name and email address, you can send them an email which contains a link.

When the patient clicks on the link, a registration form will open for them to complete. This includes not only demographic information, but importantly their medical history. Once the patient clicks finish, this information is then directly imported into the patient record on PPMS Podiatry.
