The economy is now built on remote, hybrid and flexible working.

In fact, 58% of workers in London are in remote or hybrid roles, reflecting the city’s flexible work culture and evolving digital needs.

But flexibility comes with challenges - especially around connectivity.

Despite the shift to remote work, only about 55% of Londoners report having a completely stable broadband connection at home.

Broadband across Boroughs - are you one of the unlucky ones?

I had a look at some recent data which just confirmed something I already knew - broadband performance can differ massively depending on where you are in London. Here's an example:

Camden averages ~56.7 Mbps download while Croydon sits around ~55.5 Mbps, compared to Richmond upon Thames at ~65.8 Mbps.

Some neighbourhoods, like Bexleyheath, see typical speeds up to 220 Mbps, while areas like Penge can be as low as 10 Mbps.
