🎣 The mission was simple… get Rory his first 30lb+ carp.
This trip to France was always going to be a special one. We headed over to the Ablacus Estate, staying on Pavillion Lake with a little time spent on Moulin too, with one main goal in mind — getting my son Rory a new PB and, hopefully, his first carp over 30lb.
But this trip was about more than just the fishing.
Rory was on a mission, I was determined to help him achieve it… and somehow, we even managed to get the wife to come along! 😂❤️ Anyone who knows us knows just how much of an achievement that was!
A week of fishing, family time, laughs, a few surprises and some seriously memorable carp.
And judging by this photo… I think we might have achieved what we came for. 👊🐟

The hookbait graveyard 💀🎣
This is years of carp fishing distilled into one shelf — Solar, Mainline, Baitworks, Parker, Shark, DT and more. Some full pots, some down to their last few beads, all retired from active duty for now but every single one has blood on its hands (well… scales).
Wafters, pop-ups, glugs, self-soaked concoctions brewed in the shed at 11pm — the lot. Some of these have out-fished baits ten times their price. Others got one trip and never came out the bag again.
Now we need YOUR help clearing the shelf of indecision:

Wow what a session we just had in 48hrs we had 15 carp and 1 pike with a total of 22 takes! Hats off to for winning the big fish pot with a lovely 25lbs mirror and to Fin for being top rod winning a couple of packs of boilies he is a total carp catching machine! Teenagers really showed the adults how to do it! Great times by the lake.

Session continues at we are having a great time, fish coming out but has yet to get into one, but not to worry it’s not getting to him at all!! 🤣🤣🤣

Red letter session earlier this week with a massive 8 fish landed losing a further 4, fair to say the Carp were loving the Atlantic heat boilies with an extra dash of hot fish oil paired with Signal cray sinkers!

So carnage part two! Just shy of 3am and a brace of 30’s ! That’s now 7 fish landed and 2 lost what a session!!!!

Busy morning at the lake! 5 fish a double take then before I could get these back out lost a fish so ended up with all 3 rods on the bank!! Happy days
