The boy from Barking, created using spray paint, watercolours and coloured pencils 🎨

It’s been a while since I’ve painted but it’s been good to get the paints and pencils back out, I even cracked open a can of spray paint to add something a little different to my work. Swipe to see a couple of process photos.

I managed to film some of this being made but I’ve got to find some time to stitch it altogether before I post that.

Captain ‘Arry, head 6 of my

Bit of a nervy one last night wasn’t it? Job done in the end though so that’s all that counts.

I’m still experimenting with values in my drawings and how using light and shadows can quickly bring a portrait to life. I think I’ve managed to capture a likeness without spending a huge amount of time on it.

After reflecting on my previous post there was something bothering me about the drawing. I think it was the 6B pencil I used so for this one I went back to the faithful Mechanical Pencil from the Chromagraph pack. This is my favourite drawing so far, what do you think?
