Recently, we’ve been working at The New Vic on some internal cabling upgrades to support critical systems, including fire alarms, lift emergency phones, and front-of-house communications.

What’s involved?

✅ Tracing and verifying existing cabling routes using specialist tone-and-trace tools
✅ Reconfiguring connections on krone strips to ensure the correct pairs and ports are used
✅ Installing and terminating new CAT6 cabling to improve reliability
✅ Integrating ATA (Analogue Telephone Adapter) devices to support emergency communication across buildings
✅ Testing extensions and connections to ensure everything is correctly routed and fully operational

This work ensures that essential systems, like lift emergency phones and reception desk lines, function exactly as needed and when they’re needed most.
