We’re very excited to announce that we’ll be teaming up with People's History Museum in the centre of Manchester to run a 3 week pop up shop. From the Saturday 30th November until Friday 20th December.

The pop up will be open 6 days a week from 10am-5pm (closed on Tuesdays)

We’ll be showcasing over 25 different makers. Including jewellery, gifts, prints, art, accessories and home wares.

✨ Storytime ✨

It’s March and that means mmtm has crept up on again. It’s fair to say that I’m sooo not prepared. It feels like the year hasn’t really started yet so here’s hoping this gives me a bit of structure and drive for the next month. Although I’ll definitely be taking the weekends off the challenge this year.

So a little backstory,
⭐️ I’m Leanne, the head honcho of Lady K Designs.
⭐️ Originally from Manchester, I now live in “sunny” Stockport with my lovely little family.
⭐️ I used to love drawing Disney characters as a kid.
⭐️ I got a job which had nothing to do with my passion and ended up drifting for many years.
⭐️ I plucked up the courage to change my path at 32 and did a BTEC course in creative media which lead to doing my degree Graphic design.
⭐️ I started, and have kept my business going since 2014 but 2016 was the major launching point.
⭐️ I took a job at a very established giftware company at the end of 2017 and balanced this with my own business.
⭐️ In 2020, the world changed for everyone and especially us. My card sales went a bit bonkers, just as we found out we were to welcome a little one later in December. Go figure!
⭐️ 2021 & 2022 were steep learning curves on how to balance family life with a growing small business 🫠 I had no choice but to make the decision to not go back to my other job. A difficult decision but a necessary one.
⭐️ 2023 was a funny old year. I was in the same boat as every other small business dealing with the new current climate and to say it was a rollercoaster of a year is an understatement.
⭐️ And here we are in 2024. Still ploughing away in the background, working mainly the days when my little one isn’t here, with a to do list a mile long, dealing with daily imposter syndrome. Be a designer they said….run a small business….it’ll be great 😆 To be fair it is when I’m doing the fun jobs. Just wish I could delegate the other boring jobs to better staff other than the cats. They just don’t listen, demand cuddles and treats and sleep during working hours.

And so the adventure continues….
