Well last week was a bit different to your typical week. Not my usual Thursday at work!

HRH Princess Anne visited Fordhall Hall Farm to help celebrate 20 years of community ownership. She walked around different areas of the farm, meeting guests as she went before unveiling a plaque and visiting the farm shop.

She was amazing! So genuinely interested in the farm, their farming practices and the team. She really took the time to talk to everyone she met.

I was asked to take photos during the visit, along with Oli and Ash. I’ve never been so nervous! I had to stop myself from shaking when she arrived. We had a shot list and a plan between us, but not knowing what to expect and knowing we’d need to keep our distance made it more nerve wrecking!

I felt privileged to have been asked to be part of it. The whole team across Fordhall Farm are dedicated to what they do and everything ran so smoothly. It would never have been any other way!

And one of my photos made it to the paper 🥰. I’m thrilled! This was an impromptu photo as Princess Ann and Charlotte arriving from their farm walk to unveil the commemorative plaque. I love the way they’re both smiling so naturally and walking in unison.

I was recently asked to design a brand identity for a local gardening company. A fantastic young individual who set up his business a few years ago and now wants a logo with a more professional look to reflect the attention he gives to his clients.

This week Benji Trims re-named and re-branded as BG Gardens, offering domestic and commercial garden maintenance.

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed working with Ben. He was very open to ideas which gave me a blank canvas to craft ideas to reflect him and his business. This was the chosen design and we’re both really pleased with it.

A clean, professional design.

Have you thought about your Christmas promotions yet?

I know it sounds like a weird question given that it's August and we're in the middle of our 4th heatwave this year!

It probably takes longer than you think to plan through what you'd like to promote, which marketing materials you need, the messaging to help make them stand out and of course the images to help you shine.

Last year I worked with Essington Farm and Stripy Fig in June to capture their portfolio of Christmas images. It probably sounds super early but it definitely takes the pressure off closer to the time. We created a beautiful portfolio of fresh new images, showcasing their produce which they used across their website, social media and printed marketing materials.

It’s the final day of the Women’s World Cup for Fordhall Farm Events today.

An early, but lovely start to the day!

Every month I used to go to All About Business Doing Business event organised by Karen Woodcock. A lovely, informal business networking event in Newport for local businesses. The only downside was the 7:30 am start!

As my calendar got busier, networking events were one of the first things to drop, so I haven’t been to this for at least 12 months. But I was there today!

Some familiar faces, but lots of new connections. Well worth it, and a nice reminder that networking is so important, no matter what size your business.

We’re doing it! 😊

A couple of months ago Sally-Anne, Louise and myself met up with a shared goal to create a business networking group in Eccleshall. We hosted our first meeting as a trial last month to test the water, and today we hosted the first of our regular monthly meetings.

A room full of local business owners, each armed with enthusiasm, and some with gifts in the form of homemade cakes and gourmet chocolates - thank you Simply Scrumptious Cupcakes and Compare the Bank. Darren from FortuneHart gave us a great talk about the wonders of Making Tax Digital, which helped a lot of people in the room.

I really am buzzing. So many connections were made between like-minded people with small businesses in Eccleshall and it was so lovely to see.

We weren’t sure if it would take off, but we’ve had around 50 guests across the two meetings and 100 members on our page.

See you all at the next meeting on Tuesday 19th May 😊
