Iknaia is excited to announce a groundbreaking collaboration with OSIL (Ocean Scientific International Ltd) and UnifAI Technology to provide real-time monitoring of bathing water conditions at Bournemouth and Boscombe beaches.

This innovative project, funded by BCP Council Smart Place and Wessex Water, supported by the Towns Fund, will establish a new benchmark in environmental monitoring and public health protection.

Deployed last Friday, this initiative marks a significant milestone in ensuring water quality and safeguarding public health.

Air pollution may be linked to an increased risk of developing dementia, research in London has suggested. A study shows a link between the condition and exposure to nitrogen dioxide (NO2) and toxic air particles. Patients living within the M25 in areas with the highest NO2 levels were 40% more likely to develop dementia than those in areas with lowest levels, researchers said. [ 42 more words ]

An innovative pilot scheme to monitor air pollution levels across Eastleigh is being launched this month powered by cutting-edge technology developed by a Hampshire-based company. Iknaia, a technology firm with offices in Chilworth, has launched a low-cost mobile air quality monitoring system, which can detect levels of pollution on the Borough’s streets in real time. Consulting group BCG estimated that the spending for IoT will grow to $267 billion by 2020. This is a clear indicator that organizations in different markets are likely to increase their adoption of the technology and further their investments in these connected devices. The key findings of the inaugural FITZ Index survey suggest that technology and automation will have a more significant impact in the roads sector in the UK than Brexit. FITZ Index polled over 200 respondents, drawn from across the highways sector, to find out what they thought about a range of current issues, six months after the referendum. 42% of the respondents were from Tier 1, 2 or 3 contractors, 28% were designer consultants and 25% were clients.
