As work continues on SHOTSOTA, we realised its gonna take quite a while, so we are going to do some smaller projects in the meantime, first one is a twin stick shooter! At the moment it looks like this...

Just returned 9 laptops to a school! All a mix of broken screens and keyboards, now back and in working order.

This is more a warning for anyone looking to buy a new system or upgrade, with christmas coming up people might be buying PC stuff for friends or loved ones.

The price of RAM is going through the roof, this is down to AI Data Centres buying up all the memory and swallowing up all chips.

There is already a knock on effect happening, as most things these days will use RAM chips for one thing or another, in the PC market the price of 64gb of DDR5 is now on par with most midrange graphic cards, Crucial who have been a RAM mainstay for years have recently bowed out of the domestic market so it can just sell to data centres.

Nvidia are no longer suppyling their GPU's to OEMS with Ram installed, AMD are raising their CPU and GPU prices.

SSD/NVME hard drive prices have slowly been going up and id imagine it will start hitting the wider market soon, things like Smartphones, TV's etc all use memory chips in some form or another.

For those hanging on to hope it levels out, unless more chip fabricators are brought on board things are looking pretty bleak. Someone like China possibly has the ability to start mass producing chips on a large scale and quite possibly might. Aside from that, we will all be waiting for the AI bubble to burst.

Like GPU's and COVID I dont think RAM will ever be the right price again.

After recovering from lurgy, back to it! Have a bunch of laptops from schools, some going back today and more to work on!

Been busy with plenty of school laptops, getting them ready for the new school year.

Also been busy with my new hobby, albeit not to everyones taste (clue: They have 8 legs)

This laptop needed Windows 10 reinstalled, returned home the same day :)
