Debbie Draws Maps

Debbie Draws Maps I’m a Sevenoaks based graphic designer with a passion for illustrating my local surroundings and beyond! Hello and thankyou for visiting my page!

I specialise in creating illustrated maps which can be personalised to feature your very own best bits of Sevenoaks. I am a graphic designer and a mum to two young boys. Like everyone else in the country, Covid19 has turned my regular routine on its head! I'm no longer commuting into the London office, or rushing back to pick up the little ones before bedtime. I may miss the hustle and bustle of L

ondon life, but this pandemic has given me the opportunity to slow down a little, enjoy time with my family and fully explore my home town. And I am SO grateful to live in Sevenoaks! After downloading the ordnance survey app, dragging the boys out on daily walks (much bribery was required!) we have stomped our way all over Sevenoaks and discovered so many amazing places. I am now quietly confident that they may even enjoy some of our picnic walks (...the whingeing and requests for piggyback rides has significantly reduced, which I'm counting as a win!). I started sketching the maps of Sevenoaks; illustrating my family's favourite spots to ensure we don't forget this special time. I am now starting to work on another series of maps, so please keep an eye out for new prints and cards. Please get in contact if you have any requests/suggestions for new maps or would like me to create your own bespoke illustrations.

Suffolk is an amazing county to spend a sunny holiday with the family! We luckily dodged the intensity of the heat last week as we had a lovely cool breeze by the coast. Loads of swimming, crabbing, rambling and good food-a perfect week 😎

A map I created last year for Russell House… it’s taken me far too long to finally share it!
This unique school in Sevenoaks offers an incredible range of facilities, from dedicated outdoor learning spaces and expansive sports grounds to playgrounds and individual buildings tailored to each stage of learning. Russell House manages to feel warm, welcoming and full of character, with a real sense of fun throughout-making it a joy to illustrate!

Spring has sprung and I’m loving it! I really think this is the best time of year in England; it’s bliss and I want to be outside as much as possible. Just a shame I have to do some work too.
We had a great Easter break with a quick trip up to my home from home, the Lake District. Whilst it wasn’t quite as warm up there (but we went prepared, so was no problem for us!) we made the most of the time with some great walks, loads of cake and a trip to , home to the largest pencil in the world! I was able to stock up on some new materials and get sketching. We even spotted a couple of red squirrels outside our cabin, and some deer (but my kids see plenty of these locally so weren’t so impressed).
I’ve just had a great long walk , where the bluebell are still out in the woods. Fingers crossed the weather stays sunny and mild -perhaps with a few night time showers for my grass and plants.

I’ve only just discovered the collage tool on Instagram and I love it! Here’s a mix of random photos from the past couple of weeks.
I’m hobbling about at present, so I haven’t been able to enjoy long country walks, but lots of trips to the local duck ponds and nature reserve. Making the most of the sunshine and flowers in bloom ☀️ My favourite time of year!
I am still working too-lots of interesting graphics jobs, plus an Ireland map to keep me busy. I’m looking forward to winding down a little for Easter.

It’s been a busy month, filled with new work projects and a fun-packed half term (no complaints here… although I am feeling a little shattered!). I’m excited to share more of these projects soon, but for now, here’s a map I completed towards the end of 2025. It was commissioned by a Bath-based tour company keen to showcase their favourite stops across the Cotswolds.
Did you know the Cotswolds span five English counties; Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire, Warwickshire, Wiltshire and Worcestershire, and are designated a National Landscape, celebrated for their quintessential English charm? Miles of rolling green hills, winding country lanes, and honey-coloured stone villages such as Bourton-on-the-Water and Stow-on-the-Wold.
Perhaps that’s why the area has become a favourite for celebrities, with homeowners said to include David Beckham and Victoria Beckham, Jeremy Clarkson, and Kate Moss.
Spending time illustrating Neolithic stone circles and picture-perfect villages has definitely inspired me to plan another visit and explore more of the area. Do you have a favourite Cotswolds spot you’d recommend?

Did you know there’s a hidden gem of a village tucked away in the heart of Sevenoaks? Nestled behind my favourite Chinese restaurant on the high street lies Rockdale Village — a charitable, not-for-profit housing association providing supported independent living, sheltered apartments, and residential and nursing care for people over 60.
Founded over 75 years ago by the pioneering Sevenoaks resident Miss Beatrice Wilson, Rockdale Village is now home to more than 200 residents. It offers a welcoming community atmosphere, with a rich programme of activities and social events set within beautifully maintained grounds.
Rockdale Village is also a double winner at the RHS Britain In Bloom 2025 awards, receiving a Judges’ Highlight Award alongside the Community Champion accolade for Head Gardener Annette Whitney.
When I was invited to create an illustrated map of the village, it was essential to capture not only the gardens in full bloom, but also the remarkable staff whose care, dedication, and attention ensure both the landscape and the residents thrive.

I’m incredibly grateful to have been commissioned to create so many new maps in 2025. I will be sharing some of these over the coming weeks, but one of my favourites was this illustration of Bozel (a charming, snow-covered village in the French Alps) created as a surprise Christmas gift. The timing couldn’t have been better, arriving just before my family and I headed to the area for our ski trip.

I’ve been skiing a fair few times over the years, though with a decade-long gap between some trips. As I get older, it’s probably fair to say my skiing skills are regressing and I now spend more time in alpine cafés and bars, enjoying wine and cheese, than on the slopes. My family, however, absolutely love it! And with views this spectacular, the aches and pains are more than worth it...so I’ll definitely keep going.

My kids head back to school tomorrow, and I’ll officially be back “at work” — catching up on emails and attending a meeting for an exciting new project that’s close to my heart.

Wishing you all a great week!

Snow drops already? This weather is confusing for us all! And it looks like a storm is brewing for tomorrow…on the very day I had booked to have a stall at Bligh’s outdoor market in Sevenoaks. Unfortunately I have had to cancel, but I have just dropped off lots of stock to Hilary, who has her own little cabin stall at Bligh’s today and for the coming week. You can find her directly in front of Pets Corner, along with her colourful South African art. I have also dropped off cards to . Their gift shop is looking festively beautiful with lots of locally sourced art, jewellery, wine and food.
I will be closing my Etsy shop on Friday for a short while, but all orders until then will be posted out 48hr tracked.

I popped into .heritage today to add some stock to my little stand. It’s always exciting visiting our pop -up as there is always something new to see; whether it’s clothing or skincare or even intricately paper cut Christmas cards! We are open until December 21st if you would like to pay us a visit.

I recently had the privilege of working with Henry Warde, owner of Squerryes, to create a detailed map of his family’s historic 2,500-acre estate in Westerham.
Best known for its award-winning English sparkling wine, Squerryes encompasses far more than vineyards—it includes working farms, woodland, historic crash sites, and beautiful viewpoints. This project took me slightly outside my usual illustrative style, as our goal was to design a map that not only shows the estate’s diverse land use but also highlights footpaths, local restaurants, shops, landmarks, and transport links to help visitors explore with ease.
Collaborating with Henry and the team at Squerryes was a real pleasure. They truly embody the family motto Licet Esse Beatis—“it is permitted to be joyful.” That spirit has shaped the estate for centuries, and since planting their first vines in 2006 on the chalk-rich North Downs, they’ve successfully captured that sense of joy. Today, Squerryes is more than a vineyard—it’s a destination for savouring life’s simple pleasures.
