A brand identity redesigned for one of the most premium hair salons in Ongar, Essex for the launch of their new salon - Sophie Bowyer Hair. The design was to be simple and clean to match the beautifully designed interior.

With accents of soft black and cream we designed the suite of luxury printed stationary for the salons menus, appointment cards and gift vouchers, to create an unforgettable salon experience.

I believe behind every woman is a great idea with a vision, a story and a passion.

I’m inspired every day by my clients who ‘go for it’. Female Founders who have outgrown “good enough” and who have earned their stripes and are ready to show up at bigger tables.

Today, I run a studio that shapes identities, strategy and experiences for brands all over the world, but it has taken me the best part of over a decade to finally reflect on how far I’ve come.

I’ve not built a personal brand, but I have built businesses for myself and others that I’ve sold and evolved, I’ve put in the work and raised the bar; not for others to match, but for myself.

I turned 40 this year, and for the first time in my career as a designer and creative director I’m beginning to recognise my own worth. I’ve not stopped sweating the small details. I still hold unrealistic standards. My obsessions are oddly specific. I always make sure to dress for the occasion. And yes, right now I’m hot and hormonal (not in the sexy kind of way).

My point is, never be afraid to put in the work. And if you always dreamed of starting something do it. The hardest part is starting.

And if you need a clarity on refining your idea, you know where to DM me.

For Honour, the starting point was a feeling. A connection to the earth, to movement and to the self. Behind it was Joujou Al Fardan, whose vision called for a wellness brand with its own perspective on nature, healing and what it means to feel whole.

Our role was to translate that vision into a world people could inhabit. Spiritual wellbeing informed the concept; the earth’s elements gave it texture and expression. Hand-drawn illustration brought an intimate, human quality to the identity, while environmental design carried its sensibility into physical space.

Beneath the visual language sat a considered strategy. How should Honour make someone feel? What rituals might it invite? What would make its community feel at home? These questions shaped an experience designed to be felt as much as seen, with each detail contributing to a wider sense of belonging.

I’m a big fan when it comes to both M&S and Sephora UK so when I found out that two of my top brands for discoverability and treats (both the snack and beauty shelf kind) were partnering I got excited! From a consumer perspective this is a match made in convenience heaven. As brand strategist I was even more interested in why this partnership makes so much sense.

M&S has been having something of a cultural resurgence. Its fashion collections are becoming increasingly desirable, its food halls have long understood the power of the everyday treat, and the brand has become very good at giving people reasons to browse beyond what they originally came in for.

Now add Sephora.

A brand built around beauty discovery, curation, trial and that very particular feeling of going in for one thing and leaving with three.

It’s a clever collaboration of behaviours.

This is we’re an opportunity for smaller brands can learn from this.

When it comes to partnerships, it’s easy to look primarily at audience size and demographic: Do they have the customers we want to reach?

But I think the more interesting questions are:

Does this brand complement how our customer already behaves?

Does it create a natural new entry point into our world?

And does being seen alongside them strengthen how we want to be perceived?

The opportunity I often tell my clients when we look for brand partnerships is to build a more connected ecosystem around how their customer actually discovers, explores and buys what they sell.

You don’t need Sephora’s scale to apply that same thinking.

Even at a smaller scale, the question remains the same:

Are you making customers come and find you or are you creating considered opportunities for them to stumble into your wider brand world?

I’d love to know your experience with brand partnerships. Have they aligned you with the right new audience for your brand or have you found that reach alone doesn’t always translate into the right kind of discovery?

Hand-drawn & Handmade is the new luxury.

In a world bombarded with automation, replication and disposable content, consumers are craving something real.

Premium, luxury brands know this and are making the shift. They’re starting to craft brand worlds that are real, the hesitation of a line stroke, the pressure of the hand and the unexpected marks that give the design its story.

Good art and design is led-by empathy, it has substance as well as style.

/ Hand drawn illustrative branding is predicted to be the new look of luxury.

Elegant Logo Design for a Luxury Fragrance Brand ⚜️

The logo was designed to capture the romance of an English garden without falling into the expected cliche of what heritage should look like.

This crest logo represents more than the botanical nature of the brand my client Phoebe Manners’ family crest is a peacock and I wanted to bring this into the design, nestled in sweeping organic forms and a refined logotype that comes together to create something that feels rooted in British heritage, yet still distinctly modern.

The details are what give the identity its character.
The restraint gives it longevity.

A luxury fragrance brand identity, distilled into one mark. 🦚

When designing the packaging for BelvoirinBloom, I applied the same restrained ethos as the wider brand identity, allowing the intricacy of the illustrated logo to breathe, rather than surrounding it with unnecessary detail.

That balance between detail and restraint is what gives luxury branding its presence.
