Is it worth spending an extra £400 on your AV receiver?

We've been taking a look at two of Denon's latest home cinema models: the AVR-X2900H DAB and the AVC-X3900H.

On paper, there's plenty to separate them. The X2900H offers seven channels of amplification, while the X3900H steps up to nine, alongside more advanced room correction and considerably greater flexibility for larger Dolby Atmos installations.

But how much of that matters in practice, and which one should you be spending your money on?

We compare the two and look at what you're actually getting for the difference in price.

Both models are available from Quantum AV, with expert advice and home cinema demonstrations at our Catterick Garrison showroom.
