I disappeared again...sorry! Life just got crazy for a sec there.

But why do I always feel guilty about taking a step back from social media? There’s a lot of pressure to stay active online, keep your audience engaged, and grow your following; and I totally get that. But I’m not going to let it rule my life. I enjoy unplugging from social media, stepping back, and working behind the scenes. I sooo want to be this person that can do it all! But running a creative social media account and balancing a full-time design job as well as freelance client work is HARD. Props to anyone who manages all of that all of the time, you are SUPERHUMAN 💪🔥

Anyway, reason for my disappearance: I have been a BUSY BEE. I just started a new job (new year, new job, new me, who dis? ✨😂) and I need to focus on my new role and make the most of this career move, so I will be closing my enquiry form for the meantime until I settle in. But I’ll still be carrying on being creative, working on passion projects, interacting with you guys in the design/small biz communities, and posting the client projects I’ve been quietly working on over the past 6-8 months; excited to reveal some of the amazing stuff I’ve been involved in!

I’M BACK! 👋 After a 4 month hiatus I’m finally back and hitting you with a friendly reminder: BACK UP YOUR FILES! 📁
The main reason for my break was STRESS. Back in June/July I had a majorly stressful period at work which really affected my mental health in a way that I’ve never experienced. Then the cherry on the 💩 cake was my hard drive malfunctioning and I lost ALL my files. So for the past 3 months I’ve been trying every avenue to recover my files, to no avail. My biggest rookie mistake was not having a backup of my files. So I’ve lost EVERYTHING. All my photos, personal work, my business branding/files, client work, my archive work from my university days. Everything. Gone. 🤦🏼‍♀️

It’s been a hard lesson to learn, but I’ve purchased a brand new hard drive, and I’m going to make sure I have a backup of all my files this time (as well as a cloud storage backup!) So take my hugely rooky-ish error as a lesson and don’t repeat my mistake: please backup your files!

After many breakdowns & meltdowns, I’ve pretty much come to terms with the devastation of losing all my work (although it still hurts and I kick myself for it). But I’m now starting the process of trawling through my many emails to recover any files that I sent via email, to slowly rebuild my portfolio and database. Everything else I’ll just have to redesign from scratch.

Hopefully I’ll be able to post more frequently now that this hellish chapter of my year is over (ish). I can’t wait to reconnect with you all! 🤗✨

I had a real fear as I was about to hit "share" that it would be a massive flop, but it gained over 1k views within the first 30 mins. 🤯 I need to believe in myself more!

Seeing the timelapse video of the logo being carved out is just so satisfying!

Once we finalised the brand design, The Cherry Blue Bakery commissioned Ink Tank to create a bespoke handmade stamp of the new logo. Stay tuned to see the timelapse video later today of the logo being carved out 👀👉

Anyone who isn’t already following Ink Tank, what are you doing?! They create the most amazing bespoke stamps (small businesses - get on that!) along with beautiful prints that are all specially designed and printed onto paperstock or tote bags 😍

Is there a better feeling than seeing your design mockups come to life? I was as giddy as Christmas morning when all these printed items for The Cherry Blue Bakery's new branding got delivered.

I get a lil excited thinking about my designs being out there in the world, ending up in the hands of many new people who have ordered yummy goodies from The Cherry Blue Bakery! 🍪

BRAND REVEAL 🍪 baking the world a better place with this one!

Let me introduce The Cherry Blue Bakery, crazy-good baked goodies straight to your door. Just LOOK how mouth-watering these bad boys look 🤤😍

Anyone who knows me knows how much I love all things chocolate, cake, and cookies (I mean, what girl doesn't?!) So when The Cherry Blue Bakery approached me to create their branding I was sooo hyped.

Keeping it fun with the fab lil cherry guy as the mascot for this brand. I love branding with a mascot and being able to use that identity strongly throughout the brand collateral. Making good use of my illustration skills in creating the lil cherry guy and the icons for the highlight covers to keep the brand style consistent throughout ✍️

Seriously dough, you knead to swipe through and dive into all this branding goodness 😏

The perfumes I gravitate towards the most are the super minimal, elegant ones that just look beautifully luxury. So that’s the vibe I had to go for with my concept for this passion project.
