CRISIS! cards are hidden mini events that look like petty crimes. If a CRISIS! token is revealed you must resolve it immediately, if you do, congratulations, you get to add fame into your current district. Failing it however will loose you fame and with it potentially your Perk card!

If you fail to resolve a CRISIS! and you have no fame in the current district, then you simply walk away and let it resolve itself, if no one saw it, it didn’t happen right?

To celebrate over six hundred follows on Instagram here is a sneak peak of the new cover art for Meteor Heroes!

As the game has progressed the idea of being "selfish heroes" emerged and everyone seems to really enjoy interacting with this theme.

So what better way to show this than on the box art. Here you can see our main characters trying to steal the limelight while Justice City falls apart.

The finished image will have camera operators and boom microphones out of focus around the bottom edge to really emphasise what the game is all about.

This weekend we hosted a birthday party for a friend and thought it would be a great opportunity to create a custom script for blood on the clocktower.

Seas of Havoc arrived yesterday and I have been learning the rulebook today. The game is a mix of worker placement to gather resources during the island phase and a battle royal during the sea phase where you gain infamy as you attack your opponents.

Movement is dictated by your hand of cards which you can hone by visiting the market, yes this game also has a deck building element!

Any damage received in battle will gum up your hand so a visit the Deep Cove will allow you to ditch cards and keep your hand trim.

The damage deck is the timer for the game. When the last card has been handed out you only have a few turns to gain the most infamy and win the game.

This is only my first impressions but I'm looking forward to hosting the sails and heading out to sea soon!

It's been a manic few weeks here! With proof reading for Meteor Heroes, getting the new prototypes ready for both HandyCon and UKGE, and creating videos with Todd from for Partisan. There hasn't been much time for anything else.

It was nice therefore to sit down and play a game of Fugitive with my wife this evening. It is a tense little bluffing and deduction game where one player is trying to escape and the other trying to locate all of the Fugitives hideouts.

This game never outstays it's welcome, with each game lasting around 15 minutes. It's a perfect game for the pub as the cards are waterproof and the whole game fits nicely in your pocket.

A big recommendation if you like light 1 v 1 games.

Another close playthrough of Meteor Heroes with my wife, she managed to resolve a Crisis card which was a mugging in Downtown and in doing so ended the game by placing her final fame token. I had only more token to go too!

Recently I have been reworking a few game elements after the latest batch of playtesting.

This is the Downtown Perk card which previously allowed a player to block certain routes. It became one of those perks that annoyed a lot of people in play, after awhile it just didn't seem to mesh with the gameplay.

The new perk allows you to use a free shortcut on the subway and I wanted to design a card showing a hero riding the subway in an interesting way.

I'm really happy with how the art is progressing. There are a few more details I want to add but I wanted to share it with everyone to show how I go about designing the art for the game.
