Customer spotlight: Kinisla (formerly Kerry Agriculture)🌟

When Kinisla’s legacy control system became increasingly difficult and costly to maintain, they chose Optio to modernise their plant.

With AutoPilot4Feed and now Imperium4, the team has:

💶 Saved more than €100,000
⚙️ Replaced several PLCs
🖥️ Given operators a more intuitive, browser-based system
🚀 Achieved an 8–10% efficiency gain in cooler cleanout

As Stephen O’Regan, Mill & Supply Chain Manager, puts it:

“It’s intuitive, click-and-play, and colour-coded. None of our operators could go back to our old system.”

A great example of how the right automation platform can deliver measurable savings, greater control and ongoing efficiency.

🚀 ForFarmers Newcastle-under-Lyme is now live on Imperium4!

Following a successful weekend upgrade from AutoPilot v6, production was back to 100% by Thursday, minimising disruption.

The project also included grinder optimisation, expected to deliver 10–15% higher throughput and remove a longstanding production bottleneck.

Helen Woodward, Project Manager at ForFarmers, said:

“We worked as genuine partners from the start, which really showed during commissioning.”

She also praised the team’s quick response to challenges during go-live and the excellent results delivered.

👏 A fantastic result for both teams!

Should your operators need weeks of training just to use a control system?

We don’t think so.

Imperium4 is designed around the way people actually work. Instead of searching through complicated menus, operators simply click on equipment displayed on a live graphic of the factory to monitor, control and record activity.

The result?

✅ Faster training

✅ Fewer operator mistakes

✅ Greater confidence across every shift

Simple software doesn’t mean less capable software. It means more time spent running your factory and less time learning the system.

See how simple plant control can be with Optio Systems.

Is your factory evolving faster than your control system?

As your business grows, your automation should keep up. Imperium4 is designed for manufacturers who need more than a traditional PLC/SCADA system—bringing together production control, traceability, planning, maintenance and ERP integration in one powerful platform.

Built by engineers, supported for the long term. At Optio Systems we work with manufacturers beyond commissioning to help keep operations running efficiently as they evolve.

We are excited to announce that DSL and Datastor have merged and rebranded as Optio Systems – one business with one clear identity.

Why have we rebranded?

As many of you know, DSL and Datastor have been part of the same group, and working more closely together, for some time. A single brand is the next step in that journey.

What will change?

In short, you should notice very little change from an operational perspective – there will be no change to your day-to-day service, systems, or support, and you’ll continue working with the same great staff who know your operation inside out. The name on our bank account will be changing, but we’ll be in touch with your finance teams to let them know. Everything else will continue as usual.

Over time, this closer integration will enable improved coordination, stronger support, and continued investment in service and innovation.
