Today, my mind felt all over the place, so I went for a walk just to breathe and notice the world outside my own worries.
While wandering about, I noticed how flowers were blooming boldly, bees moving tirelessly from flower to flower, and birds filled the air with layered and rich melodies. Even today’s late bird might have caught a worm.
Now, I didn’t see lilies exactly, but I couldn’t help but think of Matthew 6:28-30: “Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin… But if God so clothes the grass of the field… will he not much more clothe you?”
Nature has a way of teaching without speaking. The bees aren’t fretting over next season’s flowers. The birds aren’t singing because they’ve planned out their survival to the last detail. They do their part, they move with the rhythm of life, and they trust the rest will follow.
Perhaps faith isn’t about pretending concerns don’t exist. It’s about choosing not to be consumed by them. Choosing to anchor myself in the evidence of God’s care woven all around me.
Today, I’m choosing to believe there’s enough grace, provision, beauty, and purpose to sustain me. And I’m trusting that my steps, however uncertain, are guided.
After all, isn’t that what the lilies would do?
