New job. Solo business. I refused to let either suffer.

When I knew a full time role was coming, I didn’t cross my fingers and hope for the best. I got strategic.

I batched weeks of content in advance. I built a backlog of ideas. I streamlined my packages down to what was realistic, what people actually want, and what I could deliver well. I updated my website and brand before I started — not after.

The goal was simple. When the new job began, I needed my business to be able to breathe on its own for a bit.

And it has.

Here’s what I’ve realised through all of it — the areas that needed me got me. My creativity. My client relationships. My content.

And the rest? That’s where the groundwork I’d already laid did its job. A website that represents me properly. Brand images that do the talking when I’m not in the room.

That’s the stuff that works for you quietly in the background — and it’s exactly what I help other small business owners get in place.

Is your website and brand working for you while you’re not watching? If not, let’s talk. 👇

I didn’t lose it. I just had too much in the way.

Your best products deserve to be the first thing people see — not buried three clicks deep on a website they’ve already left.

A one-page site puts your best sellers front and centre. Every time.

Until the end of August, my Kickstart package combines a brand shoot and one-page website — saving you up to £290 on the standard price. Link in bio.

I post. I close the app. I get on with my day.

That’s it. That’s the critical step you’re missing.

Most small business owners spend more time anxiously checking their insights in the first hour than they do actually running their business. I was that person until very recently!

Watching the views. Refreshing the likes. Wondering if the algorithm is going to pick it up.

Here’s what I’ve learned. The reel will perform how it performs. Watching it won’t change anything.

What will change things is showing up again tomorrow. And the day after.

Consistency beats anxiety every single time.

Post it. Close it. Go and live your life. The content is doing its job without you hovering over it.

Follow if this hit a nerve — I post about the reality of building a business online without losing your mind.

Are you guilty of the post and hover? Tell me below — I know I’m not the only one. 👇

Spring in Northamptonshire doesn’t last long. But when the rapeseed is out it’s absolutely worth chasing.
This family session is everything I love about outdoor shoots — movement, colour, real moments and a little girl who clearly had no interest in standing still. Perfect.
If you’ve been thinking about booking a family shoot this summer the fields won’t wait. Neither will they.
Sessions available across Northamptonshire. Link in bio to book.
The best family photos don’t look like photos. They look like a Tuesday in May.

Miranda would not approve.

This is photographer me meeting editor & web design me.

One of us shows up ready. The other has been sitting in the same chair for three hours in yesterday’s clothes making 47 decisions about whether the shadows are too warm and choosing between two images that look almost identical and what size font looks best.

The shoot is the part you see. The part that feels exciting and creative and like something is actually happening.

But the edit is where the work really lives.

For every hour in front of the camera there are hours behind the screen. Colour grading, culling, retouching, exporting, delivering. The part nobody sees but everybody notices when it’s done well.

The shoot is about 20% of what you’re actually paying for.

The other 80% is this. Baggy trousers, bad hair and an unreasonable number of strong coffees.

Do you ever think about what goes on behind the lens after you leave a shoot?

That’s all.

The more I get in front of the camera the more I understand myself. And the better the work gets.

Turns out showing up is the whole lesson.

What’s one thing that’s got easier the more you’ve done it? 👇

Your website is the first thing a potential customer sees before they decide whether to trust you.

And just like a shop window — it either pulls people in or sends them elsewhere.

Car boot sales, discount stores, charity shops. They all have their place. But if you’re selling quality products or services, your online presence needs to match.

Better images aren’t a luxury. They’re the difference between someone staying on your page or clicking away.

If you’re ready to invest in how your business looks online — whether that’s a brand shoot or a brand shoot and website combined — the link in bio has everything you need.

Your work is good. Your online presence should look like it.
