🛠️ This one had me scratching my head! 🤯

A customer's gaming PC came in with a very strange fault. The system would power on, but there was no display output and it wouldn't even POST.

I started with the usual diagnostics:
✅ Tested RAM individually in different slots
✅ Disconnected all non-essential hardware
✅ Swapped GPU with known-good replacement
✅ Tested with a different CPU

Despite all that, the fault remained. Sometimes it would POST and give me a screen, but not let me use the firmware, most of the time it would either show nothing at all or lock up completely. 😵

After hours of testing and swapping components, I finally decided to replace the motherboard.

🎉 Instant fix! 🥳

The original CPU, RAM and Graphics card all worked perfectly once installed on the replacement board, and the system booted straight into Windows without a single issue.

Faulty motherboards can cause some of the most bizarre and inconsistent symptoms, and this one certainly didn't make it easy! 😅

The customer is now back up and running. 🎮🔥

Old but gold! A truely stunning system!🤩

Today’s customer messaged me saying:
“My son’s PC is brand new, but every time he turns it on, it lasts a couple of minutes before Windows completely locks up and needs a force restart!” 🤔💻

So off I went into full detective mode 🕵️‍♂️

I started with the usual diagnostics:
✅ Checked temperatures
✅ Ran memory tests
✅ Stress tested the graphics card
✅ Updated Windows
✅ Swapped hardware around

…and absolutely NOTHING would make it crash 😐

At this point I was genuinely starting to question my own sanity. Was the PC gaslighting me?! 🫣😂

Then, just as I was about to admit defeat and make a coffee ☕, I noticed Fortnite had started downloading in the background. The installer was copying around 70GB of files onto a second “old school” hard drive…

…and BOOM 💥
The entire system locked up EXACTLY how the customer described 😳

So next, I disconnected the ancient mechanical hard drive and installed Fortnite onto the SSD instead…

ZERO ISSUES 👀✨

Turns out the old hard drive wasn’t technically “dead” — it was just having an existential crisis every time Fortnite tried unpacking files onto it 😬🎮

I then had the awkward pleasure of informing the customer that while his “brand new” gaming PC looked modern… the actual platform inside was around 13-14 YEARS OLD 🤯
(Aside from the refurbished storage drives, naturally 🫠)

This masterpiece was apparently built by a system integrator called VenoScorp.

Honestly… who does this?! 😂

• A 14-year-old Mini ITX platform
• Stuffed into a mid-tower case for absolutely no reason
• Running Windows 11 despite definitely not being invited to the Windows 11 party 🚫😂

Anyway — happy ending! 🎉
Customer now has a replacement SSD installed, the system is stable, and Fortnite no longer acts like it’s summoning demons from a spinning rusty drive 😂

Had a customer’s Corsair-themed gaming PC in for diagnostics today, and this one turned into a bit of a mystery! 👀

I started with the usual troubleshooting steps to rule out the common issues, but it quickly became clear the worst had happened… a DEAD processor 💀

The eagle-eyed amongst you might also notice there are two graphics card boxes in the photo 👀 That’s because the customer decided to take the opportunity to upgrade from an RTX 3060 to a brand new RTX 5070 Ti alongside the new CPU - definitely a serious upgrade! 🔥

After updating the BIOS, installing the latest graphics drivers, and running a full system stress test, I’m happy to say the system is now fully stable and performing brilliantly 💪

Result? 100+ FPS at 1440p across all games tested 🎮
