Eid thousands miles away from home

There are some experiences in life that we all take for granted but as we move on in life and things change we realize those little experiences are actually something that form the feeling of belonging and serve a sense of purpose. One of those experiences is Eid at home and living away from home in Pakistan I realized it is much more than just a religious holiday! Today when nobody came to my room early morning waking me up for Eid namaz screaming Eid Mubarak with all the excitement and no one was in the kitchen making my eid wali sawiyaan, I felt so empty inside! Those little family traditions are what actually connect us to our roots and that get so deeply embedded in our lives that we don't even realize their importance until they are no longer there. That excitement and enthusiasm about all the little preparations for Eid that harps on in every household regardless of age gender or social class is what makes Eid so beautiful and unique in Pakistan! And nothing can compare to the happiness that those little things bring!

Can't thank enough to Allah tala for meeting amazing people at ISOC (islamic society at uni) who called me over for dinner otherwise this Eid would have been spent lying on bed all day and not taking calls from home because you don't want to show them ugly crying face 🥲

May you all alway spend these wonderful days with your loved ones!!! Eid Mubarak! 💖🌸🌙

Happy International Women's Day!! 💜✨🌸🌈

On this Women's Day, I want to show gratitude towards who I'm becoming, and I feel so lucky that life gave me a chance to live as I please, to be strong and independent, to make my own decisions and be content.

I really wish every woman should be free from the shackles of shame, to be able to stand up for what's right, and to never have to put up a fight to live freely. I wish every woman could have the courage to speak her truth and be heard, to be respected and not be deterred, to be able to make her own way, and to never have to feel dismay. I wish every woman could have the strength to overcome any obstacle at length, to be able to reach for the stars, and to never feel like she's behind the bars. 🤲✨

Created this artwork for Women March Multan 2023, where I reimagined my city Multan as a safe and equal space for women. It is a utopian vision where women can have access to public spaces, pursue their dreams, and be treated as individuals with the freedom to make their own decisions. It is for girls, women who are determined to get an education and pursue their dreams as engineers, scientists, artists, writers, community leaders, and athletes. A reminder of the importance of creating an environment where women can thrive and be empowered to reach their full potential and are respected and valued, and where they can live with dignity and safety. We must strive to create a world where everyone can live without fear of violence or discrimination, and where all can have access to the same opportunities. We must continue to fight for gender equality and justice, and ensure that all humans have the right to live with dignity and respect.

This is my poster contribution for , I stand in solidarity with all those participating in the Aurat March and support the cause of gender equality and justice. I hope that this march will bring about positive change and create a more equitable society for all!!
