Ways to get honest feedback….

* Google Forms are great for collecting tailored feedback that can be anonymous (it’s free!)

* To the above point, ensure your questions aren’t too vague. No one wants a ‘Amy is nice response, everyone is nice. Think about what you really want to know, be specific.

* Get together a focus group to talk about a product, service or expansion plans.

* Ask for personal feedback, set the intention that you really want to learn and get better and will receive the feedback in a non judgmental way.

* Test run your product or service with people that you trust to give you valuable feedback. This works well with people in your niche, or that you are trying to help.

* To the above point, maybe run that service or product at a discounted cost to get feedback first, tweak and improve so you can then price it correctly.

On Friday I co-hosted Building Brands in Plymouth alongside Chris and Ali, and I’ve only just come down enough to write about it.

Dave Briggs really does know how to put on a *really* good marketing event.

One thing I find is there is always an underlying theme at Building Brands UK. This year I felt the rooms electrify when people talked about IRL, the powers of humans alongside, not against AI - and lots of talk about how we bring the JOY of marketing as a function and reject it from being just an ROA objective.

This has got me thinking about my own talk coming up at BB in Exeter this November, where after years of working for national and global brands, I’m scoping the interest for hyper-local brand building.

When got in touch with me she was feeling embarrassed by her branding and website - to the point where she wasn’t sharing it!

Carolyne’s website was created years earlier as a point of information and contact but over the years, she’d totally outgrown it and it no longer felt like her.

My involvement with Building Brands UK has led me to so many brilliant people. From not really knowing what it was all about and arriving at my first event alone and slightly nervous, to giving my first talk in 2024... I’m now hosting and speaking in both regional events this year and I can’t wait!

I’m grateful not only to be part of it, but for the people it has brought into my life.

Sounds like an acceptance speech, but its hard to capture what BB means to so many, so I hope I’ve done it justice.
