Dr Dela Sharifi is a Senior currently working with the Networks team at Atkins. She has extensive experience in Power Industry as both technical lead and project manager working on several projects in multiple disciplines including Railway Systems, EMC and EMF compliance analysis and modelling , Net Zero Strategies and Renewables Regulatory and Compliance. Her key projects include; EMF modelling for East West Rail 2, EMC modelling for Cross Rail, EMC risks identification survey and analysis for HS2 and project manager on projects with Ofgem, National Grid and EDF.

She did her PhD at the University of Birmingham working on developing novel solutions for future traction technologies for railway industry and is a guest lecturer on the Railway Systems and Safety MSc programme at Birmingham Centre for Rail Research and Education, University of Birmingham.

Dena is an with a background of studying and working on power systems, energy storage systems and (rail). Dena has received a PhD Degree on a thesis titled “Methods for the Characterisation of Storage Systems for Independently Powered Trains” at the Birmingham Centre for Railway Research and Education, University of Birmingham.

Dena works in Atkins’ Electrical Systems team as an Engineer and has got two year experience of EMC in the UK rail market, including one year experience of working on Project. While working at Atkins, Dena has provided inter-practice coordination for the development and documentation of EMC interface design and implementation strategies

Tamara Monti is a Solution Consultant for the electromagnetic simulation tools of Dassault Systemes. She earned a master’s degree in electronics engineering and a PhD degree in Electromagnetics.
She has been visiting researchers at the Trieste Synchrotron, at Temple University of Philadelphia and at the University of Maryland at College Park working on microwave nanotechnology. She has held a postdoctoral position at the University of Nottingham from 2014 to 2017, before joining CST and focusing on computational electromagnetics.

Stephanie Ambala is an Assistant Engineer at Atkins working within the Electrical Systems North team to provide Compatibility (EMC) and Earthing and Bonding (E&B) guidance and assurance on a range of projects. She joined the Atkins Graduate Scheme in 2016 following her graduation from Cardiff University with a MEng in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. Stephanie has worked on a variety of projects including Great Western and London to Corby Electrification, Crossrail, High Speed 2, Coventry Station Footbridge and Canopies Upgrade and East West Rail Phase 2.

She continues to develop her knowledge and understanding of and systems integration, ensuring that projects meet the required and E&B Legislation, Regulations and Standards by undertaking surveys, producing guidance documents (e.g. Strategies, Control Plans etc.), reviewing designs, supporting hazard workshops and assisting in Testing and Commissioning activities.

Martin Grant is an in Atkins’ Systems team with over five years’ experience of EMC, predominantly in the UK market. As well as producing the necessary assurance documentation for projects and working with the design disciplines to ensure requirements are met, Martin has been heavily involved in undertaking calculations and modelling where specific EMC issues have been identified. This has varied from Mathcad-based calculations through to utilising Atkins’ Multi-Train Simulator (MTS), a multi-conductor modelling package developed in a Knowledge Transfer Partnership with the University of Birmingham.
