The pool is now open for the season and with the warmer weather finally arriving, we thought it was the perfect time to look back at a project we completed there last year! ☀️🏊‍♂️

It was an absolute pleasure to carry out this project for Aspley Guise Village School. We wanted to give something back to a community that has supported us from the start!

These planters were built to create a dedicated space for the children to grow their own fruit and vegetables, spend more time outdoors and build positive habits around caring for something over time.

It may be a simple project but it gives them something meaningful to be part of from planting and learning through to watching everything grow and develop through the seasons.

Most gardens get used in the day… this one comes alive at night.

Warm, natural materials paired with carefully placed lighting completely transform the space. The hit and miss fencing delivers a modern finish while adding privacy and structure. Every line has been considered, creating a space that feels balanced and effortless.

The circular porcelain patio forms a standout seating area perfect for relaxing or entertaining. The soft curve breaks up the layout and naturally leads into the planting, which will continue to mature and fill out over time.

Lighting was a key part of this build. Feature wall lights bring the fencing and garden room to life, lighting adds depth without overpowering the space. Big thank you to Woburn Electrical Group for a top level finish.

Have you ever wondered what’s involved in turning a tired outdoor space into a fully finished garden like this?🏡✨

This project began with the foundations. We carried out a full dig out and re level, installed membranes, added fresh topsoil and laid new turf to create a fresh new lawn. From there nearly 30 metres of pathways were installed to link the garden together and make the space work effortlessly.

For privacy and structure we installed over 35 metres of Venetian style fencing, giving the garden a modern finish. A composite decking area with built in LED lighting and a pergola created a dedicated seating space, while the new block built planters were finished with dark grey porcelain cladding and coping stones.

Lighting played a key role throughout the garden with 30 metres of LED strip lighting added to highlight features and extend the use of the space into the evening. To complete the project the patio was professionally cleaned and sealed for long term protection and the slate around the patio was replaced with decorative stone for a much neater finish.

This project is now complete. We installed 24m² of Bianco Cream porcelain paving with contrast borders that will look great for years to come with minimal maintenance!🏡✨

Alongside this we installed 12 bays of closeboard fencing using 8ft concrete posts with recessed concrete gravel boards giving the boundary a tidy look. The existing step was stripped back and reinstated, finished with new paving slabs and porcelain tiles to the upstands so it tied in neatly with the new patio.

We then installed a new matching closeboard gate with latching kit as well as two new hardwood gate posts. The existing gate was then re secured and rehung to ensure smooth operation and proper alignment.
