Mega Lexicon PCM42 I serviced for this week. This is just me dicking around after the service.

The PCM42s are pretty cool this one had the extended memory so you can get a 4.8 second delay I believe.

Here I’m just testing the repeat function. Play a dissonant guitar chord. Hit repeat and pitch it down and use the modulation section to get some weird stuff 🤘

Really nice Roland GR-300 over at that we had the pleasure of servicing. .hingley playing the geetar here whilst he helped me calibrate the synth.

Everyone was pretty smitten with this. I don’t know who Roland got to make the guitar but it’s an amazing instrument just on its own. When you add the synth you can get lost for hours.

Nice easy service with this: re-cap, clean or the controls and hardware. Then calibrate it all up. Tune all 6 oscillators and the filter. Happy days 🤘

Why should guitarists have all the fun? Sometimes when you’re a synth player you want to break something too! How about the cut off pot?

Fixed this nice little Moog Minitaur for the lovely . The wiper of the cutoff pot was measuring open so a new one fitted and a calibration and it’s all good to go 🤘

Roland AP-7 Jet Phaser (Jet Razzer) I’ve recently just serviced for .

The AP-7s are amazing pedals. This a guitar and an amp is all you need to get some sick tones 🤘All these Roland pedals are rate good. Boss CE-1 on bass is just pure bliss.

This service was a nice easy one. Re-cap, calibrate and clean. Job done 🤘

Wurlitzer Sideman post part 2. Believe it or not this is the sequencer for the Sideman.

How it works is the arm with the tines spins clockwise brushing against all the different contacts seen in the photo. Then all the contacts are connected to each different voice, for example hi-hats, snare and kick drum. The quicker the arm spins the quicker the BPM is, as simple as that.

Some serious mathematics and geometry went into this. The sideman can play 4/4,3/4 and 6/8 rhythms. Seriously impressive for something designed and built in the 50s. My brain struggles counting to 6!

Had the pleasure of servicing this Wurli Sideman for recently. Massive drum machine with really nice sounding wooden block sounds.

Not quite sure how the rest of the band knew if the stage was level though. It doesn’t have a mouth…

Here’s something I don’t post much on my feed. A synth! The great Yamaha TX7 all the ways off having a DX7 without loosing space in your studio or a vertebrae.

Came in with all the patches playing really quietly - weird! Tested all the output first to see if the VCA and everything was working, it was. Traced it down to this pesky little DAC!

I like the DX7 so much I even have a t-shirt of it. (Got the shirt cos I can’t play keys. See vid attached) Whatta nerd 🤘

Grampian 666 I recently worked on for . Fully restored and back to making a lovely sounding verb.

The 666 is the little scamp child of the 636. They can’t really be compared as the 666 has a different circuit altogether. However is still fully germanium. Crazy how different Grampian went with this saying the 636 was built using stripboard. Look PCBs and headers mental 🤘

Ayup Duck! Waddle it be? A big ol serving of a quacking great Mu-tron III. Not the first on my feed not the last. They’re brilliant and do the auto wah (quack) sound the best. Not just for bassists but for everyone to get down their back, sack and quack 🤘

Writing this is making me think about b**r. Mmmm 😋
