I installed Windows 11 yesterday after being offered the upgrade via Windows Update. I didn't use the automatic update but installed from an ISO disc image that I had downloaded when I received the update notification. Windows 11 installed without any problems and I kept all my data and apps. So far I have had no problems whatsoever and the changes I have been aware of are all cosmetic and have not affected the functionality of the operating system. I will post details if I encounter any problems.

While most people are stuck at home it's important to keep in touch with the outside world. If anyone has a computer problem that requires assistance then please get in touch. If I can't talk you through the problem then I can remotely access your computer if necessary (with your permission) in order to rectify the problem.

For the last couple of years I have been using Google Adwords to ensure that Angel Services appears in Google searches for people searching for help with computer related issues.

Since the beginning of May Google have banned all adverts relating to "tech support". I am now not allowed to advertise setup, installation, fault fixing or virus removal. Effectively they have stopped me from advertising my services. Google claim that this is to stop customers from being ripped off by unscrupulous companies. Obviously there are rogue organisations on the internet offering technical support for products from the likes of Microsoft and Hewlett Packard but these are an entirely different proposition to businesses like mine which provide on-site support for users requiring help with computer issues that they cannot deal with themselves.

I am now having to look at other avenues for advertising my services.

My internet provider wrote to me to tell me that they were increasing the price of my broadband and that consequently I could leave without any penalty charges. I found a better deal with another company and then rang my provider to tell them that I was going to leave them. They ended up giving me a price reduction and an upgraded package! It's always worth shopping around and then haggling with your provider when your broadband contract is due to end.
