We were on site today at St Edmund’s Catholic church to help configure a new organ loudspeaker system with Dave of Refresh AV, for their existing Roland two manual organ.
The organ was originally fitted with a couple of active loudspeakers mounted into the upper left hand side room, which used to be the old pipe chamber for a former Compton organ, Dave had proposed an upgrade to the system using four of our Forte 2 wide dispersion loudspeakers and our new compact Forte SUB3C.
The Forte 2 loudspeakers were chosen in white and mounted onto the edge of the opening into the nave of the church. These were hidden behind an acoustic screen to provide minimal visible impact in the recently decorated Victorian church.
To supplement the Forte 2, Refresh AV used our new single 15” Forte SUB3C to augment 16ft pedal registration and provide a solid foundation to the sound. The sub was positioned against the back wall of the upper room which allowed sound egress into the chancel area through the side opening.
The new loudspeakers provide a system with much wider frequency response and better dispersion and acoustic blending with the building with plenty of reserve power if the organist needs it!
