Artificial intelligence is reshaping childhood, and most institutions are not prepared.

In the latest episode of The Blue Dwarf - Keeping Children Safe Online, I speak with cybersecurity advisor Tudor Damian about:

• AI hallucinations and the illusion of knowledge

• Deepfakes and synthetic content in schools

• AI-driven grooming and large-scale manipulation

• The erosion of critical thinking

• Building antifragile, adaptable young minds

As AI-generated content surpasses 50% of new online material, “seeing is believing” is no longer a reliable standard.

The real question is not whether children should use AI, it’s whether we are teaching them to validate, question, and think independently.

The future-proof skill is not technical fluency.

It’s critical thinking.

The episode goes live today at 4pm UK time on The Blue Dwarf channel: https://www.youtube.com/

In an upcoming episode with Tudor Damian, we explored the topic of artificial intelligence in what I promise will be a compelling and thought-provoking discussion. One particularly striking point was Tudor’s mention of cases in which individuals have symbolically “married” AI systems.
He encouraged me to explore the topic further by asking AI directly... and I did.

See below the result:

"🧡 Symbolic AI Weddings That Happened

Here are some real examples where people staged weddings with AI, holograms, or virtual characters — but none were legally recognized marriages:

💍 1. Japanese Woman with an AI-Generated Partner (2025)

A woman in Okayama, Japan, created an AI persona (named Klaus) using a chatbot like ChatGPT and developed a deep emotional bond with it. She then held a wedding ceremony with that AI — wearing AR/VR gear and exchanging rings in front of guests. The union was symbolic, not legally recognized by Japanese law.

💍 2. Akihiko Kondo & Hatsune Miku (2018)

Japanese man Akihiko Kondo famously held a symbolic wedding to Hatsune Miku — a virtual pop star hologram — with a formal ceremony in Tokyo. This received international attention as a sincere personal commitment, though again not a legal marriage.

💍 3. Other Reported Stories of Symbolic AI Marriages

Various personal stories exist of people staging weddings or making deep commitments to digital companions or chatbots as a way to celebrate emotional bonds or artistic expression — but these aren’t legal marriages under existing marriage laws."

Inspired by this I asked ChatGPT to generate a picture of our conversation and this is what he gave me.

PS: this post is meant to make you aware of such things not give anyone ideas.

💙 New Blue Dwarf Podcast Episode

“Even if nothing happens, the message itself can still hurt.”

In this episode, we talk with Samitha, a high school student and youth cyber safety advocate, about what it really feels like to grow up online.

Together, we explore:
✔️ Why likes, DMs, and attention can quietly affect self-worth
✔️ How online grooming and scams often start emotionally, not obviously
✔️ Why teens need safe spaces, not just rules
✔️ How parents and schools can truly support young people online

This is an honest, thoughtful conversation about boundaries, validation, and connection - without fear, blame, or judgment.

Hello everyone,

I’ve never asked anything of my audience, until now.
In the spirit of Christmas, I’m reaching out to each and every one of you with a simple request:
Please watch the latest episode of The Blue Dwarf podcast.
Link: https://youtu.be/BLIVXQh8LLc
Don’t do it for me.
Don’t do it for views or subscriptions.
Do it for yourself, for your children, or for someone you love.
This episode includes Romanian subtitles, for those who may not be fluent in English.

Why this episode?
Because alongside Stephanie von Bismarck, we explore some of the most pressing and painful issues affecting children online today, including digital grooming, online exploitation, and what real protection looks like in 2025.

We offer not fear, but practical, real-world advice.
Tools that parents, educators, and caregivers can use right now.

If even one child can move through childhood with their innocence intact because someone heard this message, then it was worth everything.

Stay safe.
Stay informed.
And above all ~ Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones.~

In November, I had the privilege of speaking at - and co-hosting - the Cyber Secured Africa conference in Ghana, where I delivered a session on “Sextortion at a scale.”
It’s a painful and often overlooked topic, but one that urgently needs more open and honest discussion.
My goal is to raise awareness and help parents understand that no child is ever completely safe just because they are behind a screen.

I would like to thank everyone involved in making the event possible, the organisers, my co-presenters, and all those who attended. It was an incredible experience and a valuable opportunity to meet new people and build meaningful connections.

New Article: Network Packet Capture in a Virtual Lab

I just published a detailed walkthrough of a packet capture project using Kali Linux, tcpdump, and Wireshark, all within a controlled virtual environment.

In this article, I cover:
✅ Setting up VMs for traffic generation and interception
✅ Using tools like nmap, tcpdump, and Wireshark
✅ Analyzing TCP handshakes and protocol hierarchy
✅ Key takeaways on visibility, troubleshooting, and ethical considerations under UK law

Whether you're in cybersecurity, network engineering, or just exploring hands-on traffic analysis, this guide aims to make packet capture practical and accessible.

Distinguished guests, speakers, and participants,

I would like to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude to everyone who played a role in making the Cyber Secured Africa Conference such an impactful and memorable event.
It was an honour not only to participate as a speaker, but also to serve as a co-host, co-organiser, and sponsor. I am proud to say that The Blue Dwarf was not only represented, it was seen, heard, and embraced on a continent and in a country where, until now, I had never set foot. That alone speaks volumes about the power of connection, the reach of digital collaboration, and the importance of our shared mission.
I am especially thankful for the opportunity to share the stage with such esteemed voices in global cybersecurity. Your insights elevated the discourse and reaffirmed the urgency of our work.
To our distinguished speakers:
Romano Ramanti
Andreia Pinto Teixeira
Olivije Zimonja
Fábio Monteiro
Dr Neelanjan Manna
Samhita Srimath Kandali
Thank you for your wisdom, your clarity, and your commitment to advancing digital safety. You brought not only expertise, but inspiration, and we are all better for it.

To our audience: your engagement, thoughtful questions, and presence transformed this event into a true dialogue. Your curiosity is the catalyst that turns awareness into action, and we thank you for lending your voice to this cause.
A special note of appreciation to the organising team, whose tireless work behind the scenes made this event seamless and meaningful:
Bonaventure Armaah
Nafui Webabe Mohammed
Esther Obeng
and Mkitos, for the beautifully crafted certification design.
Your dedication is the foundation of everything we achieved.

I would also like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the other sponsors and notable participants whose support and presence contributed to the success of the event. Your commitment to advancing cybersecurity across Africa is both valued and deeply appreciated.
They are:
OPSWAT Academy
Cyber Secured India
Cyber For Youth

As we reflect on yesterday’s conference, I hope each of you has come away with a renewed sense of purpose, meaningful new connections, and a deeper commitment to safeguarding the digital world, especially for those who are most vulnerable.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.
Until we meet again, stay safe, stay connected, and keep building forward.
