Big things are happening for digital access in Islington Council.

A huge thank you to the Clerkenwell councillors: Ben Mackmurdie for Clerkenwell, Matt Nathan and Ruth Hayes for Clerkenwell for the funding that will help hundreds of local residents move out of digital poverty.
We are also incredibly grateful to the Mayor, Jason Jackson, for his generous donation of more than 200 laptops.

This combined support is what makes our Mer-IT Hubs possible. We’ll be using these spaces to distribute devices and ensure no one in Islington is left behind in the digital age.

We recently invited local organisations to apply to become a Mer-IT Hub in Islington Council, and we were overwhelmed to receive over 30 applications. Choosing only six was incredibly difficult, and we want to thank every single group that took the time to apply.

We are now proud to announce the six partners who will take part on the Pilot: The Peel Clerkenwell, Help on Your Doorstep, Kurdish and Middle Eastern Women's Organisation (KMEWO), HealthProm, Single Homeless Project and The Gap Mentoring.

This is all made possible by the funding from Clerkenwell Councillors: Hayes for Clerkenwell, Ben Mackmurdie and Matt Nathan, alongside a donation of 200+ laptops from Mayor Jason Jackson. Together, we’re making sure no one in Islington is left behind.

The best support is the one that gives you the freedom to develop in your own way.

But it often goes unnoticed.

First invited us to the area, FBC Clerkenwell hosted us for years, Ruth Hayes for Clerkenwell supported us with an amazing funding opportunity and recently Jason Jackson, Mayor of diverted equipment to us.

We all notice the days getting longer. Over the course of February an extra 1hr 40 minutes will be added to daylight. In less than 6 weeks it will be the Spring Equinox.

For all the downsides of winter it does bring dark skies and outer space into view. Let's enjoy what is left and hope for clear skies.
