We wanted to address some of the most common questions raised lately about Safest Way.
Over the past few days, thousands of people downloaded the app, shared feedback, challenged us and started important conversations around safety, cities and public space.
So we put together a few slides answering the questions we’ve seen the most 💛
Safest Way is not about guaranteeing safety.
It’s about helping people make more informed route choices using publicly available data and environmental factors.
Thank you for all the thoughtful discussions, we genuinely read far more comments and messages than people probably realise.

Then a member from a local Neighbourhood Watch group asked:

So we did.
Safest Way is now live across Greater Manchester 💜💛
Helping you choose safer routes using real data.

Normally mornings start with a hot brew. Today started with joining Matt Bailey on BBC Newcastle Breakfast Show to discuss how data can help people choose safer walking and running routes.

We were also joined by Michelle Embleton from Ashington Hirst Running Club, who spoke about what it takes to keep running after dark, the risks that can come with it, and how Safest Way can support women who want to continue their running routines through the darker seasons.
A great conversation about technology, confidence, and helping people stay active all year round.
